The fieldstand will bend quite easily with heat from a welding torch. I've straightened and bent allsorts that way.

You can buy all the cables off JJ Cables on 01926 651470 (mention my name if you want) They will have all the spec and correct nipples and adjusters etc.

If however a cable arrives with some discrepency to it's length or free length, they will alter it fee of charge.  Ron

Ron, are the cable nipples the same size for 7/8 and 1” levers ?.

I can't pin point it, but these bikes are from contract C3360 in 1939 and clearly show the clamp (also note the 6" headlamps) and we know of 1940 bikes with and without the welded on pivot, obviously at some point in 1940. We can only narrow it down by a process of elimination and any photographs that may show it???

What contract is your bike from?   Ron

What’s the box under the seat, looks too big for a MCR1 regulator ?.

The tyres look almost the same tread pattern as the Ensign.

No they're all Lucas. You can read it on the face of the ammeter I posted. They are the pre-war version with an illumination window inside the headlamp and the headlamp reflector had a slot in it to let some light through to the ammeter window. ....I doubt that anyone was blinded by it though!  Ron

So the later wartime CZ27s had no cut out and flat glass or did the CZ number change ?.

One of the hardest parts to source to date was an orginal field stand.

My particular bike has the later welded lug, 6 months of searching I found a genuine field stand tucked away in France, a little worse for wear but solid all the same. It finally arrived through the post today, still with signs of military paint in places too!

Being nosey, how did you find out about it in France Steve ?.
