  1. and no one able to buy anything to play with unless they get a certificate worth £Mega K's
  2. I wonder if this would happen here, There are talks (rumour control and like) about something similar for UK but would this restrict owners of classics, mil vehs etc who occasionally use them and are not their main mode of transport? In Singapore - Car owners must have a Certificate of Entitlement (COE), an expensive compulsory certificate designed to limit car ownership. Residents who wish to drive must bid for the right to buy a motor vehicle, with the number of certificates deliberately restricted. The COE allows holders to own a car for a period of 10 years, after which they must scrap or export their car with financial incentives or bid for another COE. And it’s not cheap - the average COE cost for a compact car is between S$71,999 and S$89,500 (approximately £37,067 and £46,077 GBP). Where's me pushbike?
  3. "My personal favorite is the wheeled Tank which seems to be crewed by the catering staff!" Ahh the armoured hi speed pizza delivery system much needed on today's modern battlefields, alongside the containerised Burger King and Pizza Hut outlets as used in the Afghan logistical effort. Driver and crew need not only an LGV and gunnery licence but also a food handlers certificate lol
  4. Cannot believe this theft by a complete @@@@@@@@ - surely there must be some CCTV on one of the routes away from Hop Farm on a motorway or other road junctions etc. It must have been captured on at least one camera but the problem is will authorities spend resources/time etc scanning past 24-36 hours looking for it? Hope it is found but every hour passed lessens hope and good fortune, our thoughts are with the owners of the stolen items gary
  5. Sounds like green hermetite that stayed pliable instead of hard and brittle like the red stuff. We tended to use hylomar as it had better oil/fluid resistance than the green H
  6. maybe still a bit muddy there but the photos seem to have dried up, please post some for those of us unfortunate enough to not get along there
  7. not same as either 303 or SA80 mounts. see below link, had a load of them last year and threw them all out as no one wanted them, only got sa80 ones now http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/301/slrbracket2wp6.jpg/
  8. Wonder if any traders at W&P have these- they would make a fortune as the 'best' footwear to get round the show and muddy areas.
  9. There is rumour of the FA and FIFA sending officials (with an HSE inspector in tow) for a pitch inspection on Fri afternoon and Saturday morning - if too bad it will be postponed until January where the ground will be more firm with frozen permafrost making all the water into a firm base :cool2:
  10. def looks like a beachmaster control tower or similar
  11. yep used every week on the jeep and looking good gary
  12. I might have, gave a box of webbing sets (about 6 sets some incomplete) to a mate, will check to see if he still has them Gary
  13. ours is a 4a and has the valve set in the back pack with a seperate tuning/control unit that attaches to the belt. It is totally different from the 4c which was more composite and smaller -batteries different due to transistors and not valves which required a large voltage to operate
  14. I have one of these awnings brand new (well unused from that time period) but without the frame. I would love to either make the frame up from an original if I can get sizes or else sell it to someone who needs a canvas. Gary
  15. I stripped and refurbed my jeep (GPW) engine over the winter and apart from the usual book with the different manuals all bound into one the best one I used for reference was the Maintenance Manual for Willys trucks 1/4 ton 4x4 available from www.jeepworld.co.uk TM-10-1513 change No 1 May 15 1942 priced online at £14.99 direct link http://www.jeepworld.co.uk/ecom/TM-10-1513_Willys_MBMaintenance_Manual_.asp Please note- I have nothing to do with jeep world or jeep books ltd but found this one a good size to work from and easy to follow etc. Gary

  19. Dualmatic FWH's with longer spacers which means I can keep original half shafts, was the way it came when I bought it some years ago. There are shorter spacers but shafts need cut etc Gary
  20. We at the WDRG had a great day at the Borders Vintage Automobile Club/Scottish Vintage Vehicle Federation event at Thirlestane Castle near lauder. In amongst all the shiny, polished, chromed and over restored cars we scored some points for the MV hobby. We won 2nd place in the military vehicle judging, then the SVVF Champion of Champions Mil Vehicle group(we won a show last season so were invited along to compete for this) where we came first. Then to top it all off we then won the SVVF Champion of Champions (all groups representing 1800 cars of all types and ages) and are now this years 'SUPREME CHAMPIONS' time to celebrate - woohoo :nut: - well done Betty (the jeep) and thanks to assistants Mitch Curr and Neil Lennon More pictures to follow.
