  1. Welcome along, what type of FV432 is it?
  2. I've just found an older reference to M160 (from 1945) which is specification CS1298, which had been replaced (at that time) with OE-30-HD (engine oil, 30HD). Sorry about the previous incorrect info.
  3. Not sure about M160, but if it's in the context of oil, OM160 (Oil, Mineral, 160) is SAE 75 plain mineral oil. see below.
  4. There's nothing listed on those codes in the instruction book for the carb. That said, these carbs do come in different configurations, so you'll need to give it a good look-over before assuming it's identical. The governor is also pre-set, so I'd imagine it may need adjustment if it was intended for a different vehicle. Per the QL maintenance manual, you're looking for 35RZFAIPO with: 29mm choke. 135 main jet 165 correction jet 60 slow running jet 200 starter jet 150 slow running jet air bleed 85 pump jet 2mm needle jet If you need instructions on setting the governor, let me know. I'd imagine the number you are looking at could relate to a particular setup or intended vehicle, but I don't know for sure.
  5. It strikes me that whether it's required by show organisers or not, it's a good idea.
  6. Laser reciever or optical power meter? Ah missed it had been solved
  7. http://www.nsn-now.com/Indexing/ViewDetail.aspx?QString=5935994277364 gives a manufacturer of Niphan and a reference to Def Stan 59-4 part 6.
  8. I can't find mention in the parts list (though there are a lot of parts). Crusader had problems with maintenance due to the loose manuals and tools going missing during shipping though, so a plate with the main servicing points that couldn't easily be nicked would have been a very useful addition to Cavalier.
  9. That looks like 0568 followed by a NATO stock number. If you can find someone with old catalogue information you could look it up. 5938-99-427-7361
  10. It's a fairly basic overall value one. If you've got a big collection you may want to go with something a bit more specialist or get it catalogued/assessed, but as a quick and easy option, this one seemed good.
  11. more info on 5015 including a handy reference of insert types - http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/1900785.pdf
  12. Can you give us a look at the insert with contacts and threads? I'd start with looking at: MIL-DTL-5015 connectors - http://www.militarysystems-tech.com/files/militarysystems/supplier_docs/Amphenol%20Solutions%20Guide.pdf 62GB connectors - http://www.amphenol.co.uk/sites/default/files/62gb%20catalogue_full_update%2018_09_2013.pdf I've come across those (or tools for those) in surplus kit. Please let me know if I was right.
  13. If you're worried, Hiscox do a pretty quick and easy militaria collections insurance. No idea what it's like on a claim, but it helped to set my mind at ease. I don't have any deacs, but I'd imagine it would be exactly the type of thing that it would cover.
  14. Be careful, if I remember right, these cables absorb water and can be damaged if they've been sat open to the elements in a yard/range for a while.
  15. Any ideas on what the rebuild process involved? Would it have been just a quick refresh before going into storage, or a strip back to as-new with with all of the mods applied?
  16. Keep a look out - there are two versions of the burner, so if you get bits make sure they go together. One with a conventional burner and a control that extends out, one with a 6-pronged flower-like burner that has a fixed control. Something went wrong...
  17. Unfortunately they haven't said, hence the ass-umption that they're not engine related.
  18. For those who may be in need, I note that Withams have listed a pallet of surplus-to-requirements "bottom overhaul kits". The mind boggles....
  19. That is exceptionally nice - well done
  20. Yes, it was still on display the last time I walked through the Land Warfare Hall.
  21. Ah they go by many names, most of which aren't repeatable here
  22. Are they matching from a good paint chip or sample, or just mixing it up to a recipe? The model making fraternity have a few recipes to mix up a good sample, or you can pick up paint chips, but that wont help if they're already trying to match it.
