  1. The Register news letter states "for further details and an entry form please contact Brian Carter " I think Brian is an HMVF member so hopefully he'll respond as I'm unsure if he'd want me to post his contact details on here ! Hope you understand Mike !
  2. The internet is never gonna be able to cope with your demands Clive , that did make me smile seeing the download time :-)
  3. To be be held on Sunday 12th of October 2014 at Horsted Keynes Station Car Park, Bluebell Railway, Horsted Keynes , Sussex . Arrival for overnight parking is from 2pm on Saturday 11th . Free entry to all commercial and military logistic vehicles not only Scammells (including car derived vans). Assemble from 09:00am on the Sunday and depart for roadrun at 10:30 am :-D
  4. I have always tried to take my Humber into the arena when the wheeled armour slot is on if the conditions are not too rough on the drive train ( I do need to drive her home after the show :-D ) However since we've been at Folkestone I've decided to cut down on weight in her on the journey to ease her mechanical suffering as she's a bit on the weighty side even empty and its now a 120 mile round trip ! This means kipping in the back for a week instead of 9x9 and having to clear it all out for the arena is a bit of a drag ! This year I missed the slot and shared the arena with mainly soviet designs from the cold war ! It is a fact that the one way system did put me off any further attempts ! At Beltring I seem to remember only the one wheeled armour slot during the week but Folkestone seemed to have maybe three so I guess either the other topics are getting thin on the ground or wheeled armour is becoming more interesting I will still always try to attend the show though cos I just love doing it !:-D:-D:-D
  5. Ok Bernard the hint is taken ! I'd add another R to the title before Mark gets upset though ! :-D Something went wrong...
  6. I came close to buying this in early 2000's at Beltring ,the Landrover tailgate was the give away ! I offered a couple of hundred as a cheeky bid and only just missed out by another couple I was told at the time ! The headlamps where full of water then and she was not running on all cylinders :-) Glad she's still around and on someones to do list ! I'd have one tomo if I had the welding and fabricating skills of some of our members ! Best of luck with her !
  7. Only one I got I'm afraid mate ! :red:
  8. Something went wrong... Best video I could get on the day I'm afraid , to John and Rick thank you both for allowing me to explore your wonderfull restorations , a real credit to you both ! Amazes me that chaps like my Great Uncle Ron went into battle in such cramped hot and noisy conditions and faced death on a daily basis and even enjoyed some of it ! Hats off to all tank crews back then and now ! You have my respect and gratitude !
  9. I enjoyed the show very much because I camped near good friends and was surrounded by the hobby I love for a week , even though it's double the distance for me and my old Humber and I pay the camping fee (works out £3.50 approx. a day ):-) , I think we should "make hay while the sun shines" because I can see the site becoming a housing estate in the near future and would Rex have the enthusiasum to start the site search all over again ? Lets hope I'm wrong though ! See you all next year with luck ! :-D P.S. the post war convoy was great fun (thanks Bernard) ! :-D
  10. It's a wonderfull island where old vehicles run free without fear of the gas axe Rob :-) I'm sure I've seen you there !
  11. Very nice , I think she'd look lovely in an old garage sort of colour scheme so I'd be tempted to keep her as a vintage wrecker , unless an unwanted complete body becomes available , There was a mint one at War and peace this year I'll post up a pic ASAP ! Good luck with her !
  12. Excellent reason mate ! Thanks for sharing the photo's ! :-D
  13. Good to see a group of Scammells on the trip ! Good luck to all !:-D
  14. Thanks for taking the time to share the great photos Paul ! Always nice to see :-D
  15. Clive , I take my hat off to you for your determination mate :-D ! I've driven mine in the rain with all hatches open and the grin does slightly wear off as you get drenched by 30mph rain bullets :-D It is amazing some of the dash cam footage that is shared this days ! Often I wouldn't have believed peoples stupidity had it not been caught on camera , professional drivers and day trippers alike ! Makes me even more cautious when driving ! "Expect the unexpected " Here's hoping for a lovely sunny next show for you mate (Just not too hot )! :-D
  16. Ah , I see ! All good fun getting out though I imagine ! Hope you've cleaned all that mud off of your nicely painted nether regions :cool2:
  17. Hi Clive , was that a planned stopping point or as far as she'd go ? My experience of mud at the Hopfarm was quite positive in my Pig ,selected 4X4 and off we went through some pretty thick bogs ! I guess she's heavy enough to reach down to the hard stuff Hope you dry off soon mate ! Such a shame about the rain I hope it didn't dampen any spirits too much !
  18. Hi Max , fairly certain now that its made by Clayton Dewandre the part number for the complete compressor is LV6/MT1 SV/PCGA124 . Good luck mate
  19. Hi Max , thats the number of the gasket from the Explorer parts book ! Could also be from a Meadows powered Scammell Constructor I guess !
  20. Looks Scammell Explorer with Meadows petrol engine to me mate ! Not sure where you'll find a head gasket but I'm sure someone on here will have found some ! Part number is LV6/MT1/SV/P3960
