  1. I have for sale a British MRTI thermal imager, beleived to be from the 80's and possibly used on the FV432 and similar to the ones used with the MILAN launchers. Runs off standard Clansman 24v batteries, I tested it and the electrical parts are working ok and managed to get a signal on my monitor from the video out coax socket. But no clear image as the sensor needs purified air at high pressure to function, but given the condition of everything, I can't see any reason why it shouldn't work properly once the cylinder is refilled. Comes with padded metal shipping/storage case and empty high pressure cylinder. I'm just looking to get back what I paid, £200, but will consider offers. Preferably to collect from Hertfordshire, but I can also take it to the monthly show at Chatham, War and Peace Revival or perhaps the military car boot at Basildon this coming Saturday.
  2. Sorry to dig this thread up, but my friend is having a some weird power problems with his LXI. Does anyone know the values of the voltages produced by the internal PSU?
  3. My bad, I had forgotten that I made an intro when I first joined in 2013, just got confused as the yellow box asking me to make my first post an introduction is still showing up on the forum pages!
  4. I can't believe I've been a member here for nearly 3 years and haven't posted an introduction. To rectify that, I'm Mike and some of you will know me from a couple of shows as "that mad Russian doctor"! I'm not that good at intros, but my main areas of interest are radios, nbc and anything optical/technical with a Soviet/Eastern Bloc slant, plus 1/35 scale kits with detailed interiors that I can accurize with some of the tank equipment I have. I'm hoping to be able to learn and provide more information on things, and of course to post more!
  5. Hoping this is the right place to ask, but does anyone know of any good sources for Soviet/Warsaw pact military equipment, especially radio or comms gear, nbc and electronics? I'm still gutted I missed out on what sounded like a "Holy Grail" earlier this year. I was told of a vehicle importer near Peterborough/Huntingdon that had a warehouse full of stuff similar to the above, but I kept putting it off due to being a 160 mile round trip. When I did go there I was told that it had all been sold for scrap a few weeks before, 5 skip loads of it for a grand. There were a few bits left, never used and mint in crates, and it just makes it worse if that was the typical condition of the rest of it I have a fairly extensive list of stuff I'm looking for, I just hope I can find another place that has similar stuff for sale, or I might get lucky at W&P in a week or so!
  6. Thanks for the welcome everyone, and Iain, I think you helped me out with a Tellurometer a few years ago Mike
  7. Hi, I'm Mike from Hertfordshire and was pointed in the direction of this forum after speaking with Lauren Child at the Duxford vehicle event a few weeks ago. I don't have a vehicle yet, but I'm hoping to get a Gaz-69 as I have the complete radio kit for one. I'm interested in researching and collecting Soviet/Eastern Block militaria, especially electronics, radios and nbc gear and have a radio amateurs licence. I probably have enough radio's to equip a battalion I also do East German and Soviet reenactment, usually at the monthly show at Chatham and will hopefully have a pitch at next years Overlord show.
