  1. We had Muirhill A5000's at various times and the regular game with newbie's was to divert the attention of the operator while sneaking an arm in under the seat and selecting Crab steer, then stand back and watch the fun.
  2. I think it would be of more interest if you post them here on the website.
  3. Has there been any recent changes in the regulations covering use of Trade Plates?
  4. Still planned for this year. https://rove.me/to/england/peasholm-park-naval-battles
  5. British Commercial Vehicle Museum in Leyland to re-open. After a lengthy re-build, the museum is set to open it's doors again on 26th January 2019 http://www.britishcommercialvehiclemuseum.com/opening-times/ Number of photos of Military vehicles in the Gallery pages.
  6. Can anyone identify what breed the Troop carrying 6x6's were? Sorry but the quality is the summit of 1970's / 80's photo equipment. To me they are single wheel deuce and a halfs. But everyone I see at shows all have double rear wheels.
  7. The fault was a dead Alternator, so a new one had to be fitted.
  8. Is there any similar publication for the Royal Navy ASR boats? My Dad was based near Kaitak in Hong Kong in 45 - 46 and spent some time on the boats there.
  9. No, the glass cupola was a fully clear with no turret.
  10. Any chance of posting a copy again, please? Just searched back 20 pages out of 98 on a Saracen - Ludgershall keyword..

  12. My unit was the same set up but we were 234 fd sqn const RE I was actually doing the same job with 234 that I did in Regulars with 52 Fd Sqn Const RE at Perham Down Tidworth.
  13. When I was a member of a TA unit at RAF Leeming in N Yorks as part of an ADR (Airfield Damage Repair) RE Squadron. We had as part of our allocation of Heavy plant, Bedfords and Landrovers a couple of Saracens used for Airfield reconniscence. The unusual thing about these 2 vehicles was that they had an armoured glass cupola over the commanders hatch so a recce could be carried out in a secure fashion. This did reduce the amount of escape routes available to the crew. Does anyone know of any photos of these vehicles either at Leeming or one of the other RAF Stations in the eastern half of the UK that had these allocated. I neglected to get a photo of them before they were replaced by similarly fitted Sultans.
  14. There was one for sale about 2 years ago near Cambridge. Oakfields I think an agricultural dealer was selling it..
  15. As a slight aside to this, does anyone know if any of the K Boats still exist? The K boats were WW1 period STEAM SUBMARINES with a slight design flaw. A comment about them was made by Rear Admiral Ernest W Leir. "The only good thing about K boats was that they never engaged the enemy."
  16. No idea about the question, but what breed of Thorneycroft are you working on? Wouldn't be an LMD trench digger by any chance?
  17. Bottled water price looks a bit on the dear side. Sainsbugs will sell you a 12 multipack for the price of 1 bottle.
  18. Film clip not available to me on that link.
  19. Spotted what I think may be 4 or more Leyland DROPS wagons in an HGV yard near Derby off the A52. Do not know any details, or if they are for sale or breaking.
  20. Does anyone know of anyone who can supply a manifold block for centralising a number of grease lines into one place? Probably about 5 - 6 lines to be fitted so we do not need to crawl round inside the frames of a vehicle.
