  1. Well done mate Give me a shout for the hydraulics if and when you need.
  2. I'm watching this if the right price. Also looking for an airborne hitch for my lightweight trailer if anyone can help please.
  3. Hi Is this dated at all? Cheers
  4. A Dutch friend is trying to locate any info on the following. Looking for relatives in the Toronto area. Any pointers on where to look or anyone who could help please? Hello Paul, try to trace next of kin of the following soldier:, thnks in advance, https://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/2659558/shaw,-hedley-morden/
  5. When I had the classic cars we used to hold them over an open flame (gas cooker or blow torch) to burn any residue off then a SOFT wire brush, brass bristles or even hard nylon to clean. For light build up, rub the tip on an old tyre, don't advise using abrasive papers if looking delicate. Brake or carb cleaner will work too. Hope this helps
  6. No, not that one then! But if anyone's ever over there, you need to give this place a visit. It's got armour, aviation, weapons, kit and equipment galore, a lot from the local battle sites and surrounding areas.
  7. There's a props company in Ireland that makes ANY prop weapon . They made me some fully functioning mills grenades, full strip, action, even the lever flew off when thrown. Also a holster filler Webley, with break action, revolving chamber and dummy rounds. :wow: They are called GREEN PIG, give them a shout, be surprised if they don't already do one.
  8. You mean the 39-45 museum. It's a great place, love it in there.
  9. Good luck mate, very sought after items and coveted by owners. As you know the Germans burnt all abandoned gliders to prevent them being 're used. I know a few collectors in Netherlands who have some nice bits. There's the Glider Museum in Wolfheze might be a help.
  10. Also Ford WOT2 rear axle the same.
  11. Sorry no ideas. Best take to a local place. Lot like doing cash jobs too if you mention that it's cash, no receipt. Makes difference in price too! They can be made from whatever hardness material you like or just case hardened is easy.l
  12. If you have good patterns any descent engineers should be able to run them up. We get pins made all the time here by local company, Where you located? U.K.?
  13. Rick knows my views on this sensationalized TV trash!! It's a load of crock making out SUGGS HIMSELF found the tanks NEVER SEEN BEFORE etc. They did the same at Woodhall Spa in July doing an Arnhem piece. Telling guys to get ready for filming at 0630 and not turning up til 1000 and shouting the odds!!
  14. Ultrasonic cleaners are the best method. Lot of carb and gearbox specialists use them. Also some tool hire places. Probably get a cheap one on eBay but depends on your usage.
  15. The Liverpool ones were taken out of service due to two problems. One was a buoyancy issue, took in water and bilge pumps not working / connected. I was working in Cammell Lairds shipyard when they were testing them in the dock. They failed! Another had caught it's prop on an old floating tyre that took out a big hole in the lower hull. I did have lots of inside and outside pics of these when they were on the quayside at Lairds. But lost them on my old phone. There wasn't much left of the original DUKW, even the hull had been messed about with. The good ones are in Singapore, still got the bullet holes in them!!:wow:
  16. Liverpool already ceased there's about 18 months ago
  17. I have a nice example in my collection marked US PROPERTY , had it since the 80', nice early deacs, full strip, cock and click, even chambers a round!!! and they not getting it back, it's mine . . .!!
  18. The painted looks great now it's weathered on my battered combat used airborne medic jeep.
  19. W E L L I actually do have a printed Pegasus transfer on its original backing paper, 10 x 10 inches It's either late war or just post war, given to me in Arnhem last year. It's the correct one for an armored vehicle. 100% original! Guy just stopped me at a junction and asked if I wanted it!!!
  20. I took the printed plate off my jeep and painted my own, small office of plate, prime it, couple of tester paints from diy store and printed off the design and sized it. Looks way better when weathered.
  21. Probably because they so much easier to get on and off in BD's:cool2:
  22. Machine Mart used to do them. They used to do 5 small ones in a pack but now ONLY FOUR!! I looked a couple of weeks ago but they are a lot bigger now than the smaller original ones. Either eBay or make your own, they basic box with a slit one side and hole the other. Thin plate with bit of M6 stud and screw one side and a bit of stud welded across other side. Might make a few after work later now you reminded me.
  23. Frank Brown at Pegasus Drive will sort you out. He's on here too I think.
