  1. Matt is correct...John Bizal at Midwest Military is brilliant to do buissness with.....most of my WC52 parts came from him..... Good parts at reasonable prices and FAST shipping Just my £1 worth Regards Lloyd PS Richard i have emailed Kjell in Norway tonight.....as soon as he emails me back i will let you know whats around OK.
  2. Thanks Jack but it is true you think about it as a good Jeep is now £9K-£10K and a show piece Jeep is £13K the humble weapons carrier or Dodge ambulance has leapt up in price. I can remember the days of £2k Dodges and £6k Jeeps and that was only a few years ago. Despite the WC being a whole lot more practical you can sleep in it for one...:-) Jeeps still command more money...... Jack think of GMCs once uon a time they were all over the place for £1500 and now you are in the £3500 realm and if its got a LeRoi Compressor on the back £12K thats just INSANE my last comment should have read... PEOPLE ARE SEEKING AFFORDABLE ALTERNATIVES....... Regards LLoyd
  3. Agreed that £5500 is top money for a WC Dodge......my contact who i have gotten 3 x WC s from now are normally in the £2500-£3000 range....need cosmetic work but mechanically very good. My WC55 (52) ,Caras WC63 and my friend Andys WC52 were all in need of paint and canvas ,cosmetics and very minor tidying mechanics but were all driveable in fact we drove my WC from the docks at Newcastle to Bedford on delivery with NO work being done to it apart from fluid checks at the dock side. But as Jeeps are creeping up in price...so are WCs as people are looking for alternatives Regards Lloyd
  4. Good looking one on MILWEB at the minute Richard with the added crane on the front bumper. I have asked my contact in Norway who i have had Dodges from in the past and he is also on the case..... Regards Lloyd
  5. Sunday is pondering day Jack.......ive been pondering the ignition and charging system of my MB.....all blinkin day...and yes it still aint done..........:-) anyway bout these Jerrycans ? Regards Lloyd

  7. Hi again Kewelde as you correctly say the Jolley system is wired correctly with red and black + and - wire taken from both terminals on the coil and that runs correctly as i have not changed that from when i started the restoration. All the other wiring is correct as per the MV spares loom and is correct to the 2 post junction block( charging circuit). All i need is the correct wiring directions for the dynamp and regulator. I know its as clear as mud isnt it ? regards and thanks for the help so far Lloyd
  8. Top man thanks for that.......so if its wired up as per the MV spares complete new wiring loom....the under dash wiring will all be in place i.e charging system wiring to the 2 post Junction Block behind the air bath oil filter. The one that is confusing me is the single black wire with white tracing that says it comes from coil HT or LT ? side to distributor......as i have the Jolley Engineering ignition system do i do away with this wire as i already have pos and neg feed to the distributor. Also am i right in saying that F is Field,D is Dynamo and E is Earth ??? Thanks for the advice its musch appreciated Regards Lloyd
  9. OK here goes guys....i need an electrical genius with a knowledge of 12v jeep electrics.... My MB has 12v electrical system on it....yes i know not for the purist but until i have the cash to return it to 6v it will be a "will do" for now. It has the Jolley Engineering (no point) ignition system on it and also a lucas 12v small regulator and 12v dynamo/ alternator ? I need to know if anyone has the same system how to wire up the charging system with the corresponding terminals and wiring please. On the regulator it has the terminals...A1-A-F-D-E so what goes where...i am speculating that F is Field and E is Earth and D is Dynamo......and that A and A1 are for charging lights etc. Also what wires come from the HT side of the coil and to where ? Any help helpful Thnaks in advance guys Regards Lloyd
  10. Great site Jack for the humble..."jerrycan" and a valuable source of info......so dare we speculate then that US vehicles used more British type cans on them than US type ones as the pictures bear this out...... a theory then that comabt vehicles used Brit types as there was less spillage....whereas depot rear echelon or airbase static vehicles used US cans where the fuel situation would not be so critical. Something to ponder perhaps ........????.............. 8) Regards Lloyd
  11. The differences between US Fuel and water cans are immediatley obvious care to post a pic for verification...... Things get distorted with US fuel Jerrycans as the US Navy and US Marine Corps WW2 cans used the same "cam lock" as the British Cans.... Regards Lloyd
  12. Matt you answered my question...on my 42 MB i will have a Brit Jerrycan as a fair percentage of WW2 pictures you see from the ETO they have Brit cans on them. Will anyone else bear this out..... Regards Lloyd
  13. My old WC52 which originally was a WC55 or M6 GMC was chassis number 81529098 Production started at c/ no 81529001 for the 3/4 ton WC Dodges in February 1942 First production of 6 x 6 Dodges WC63 started at chassis number 82000006 in mid 1943 hope this helps regards Lloyd
  14. Jack...that may work OK for you "hairy" people but what about us follically challenged personell I think you are being "hairist" and totally non PC Regards LLoyd...................:-)
  15. Karoshi i think thats exactly where the problem lays.....RANK and DECORATIONS. only speaking for our unit...we DO have a rank structure in keeping with our recon unit. As we have multiple vehicles and multiple platoons we utilise correct rankings for vehicle commanders ,drivers, infantrymen , Squad leaders etc as that was "correct" for the period and the unit we represent.... It has the desired unit effect and also as we portray "actual" people we DONT abuse the rank Just my £1 worth Regards Lloyd
  16. I think Berni has it spot on there.....re enactors use MVs as display accesories..... MV owners use "uniforms" as accesories the gap is definatley if very "slowly" narrowing..... Regards Lloyd
  17. Guys i think it depends on what you are actually portraying...for example our unit is a recon company of the 2nd Armored Division and as such the vehicles are part of our living history display and there fore we dress accordingly and correctly so there fore we are reenactors and vehicle owners. The same goes for people that own vehicles and use them to accesorise static displays. But the crux of the matter comes when the "purist" MV owner looks down upon the re enacting hobby personally speaking it doesnt irk me to see flecktarn in a landy or a 432 or abbot but you put BD or flecktarn in a M4 Sherman or an M5 Stuart and it becomes a different matter. my own opinion is you dress to suit the vehicle and the time period as correct dress is a perfect accompyment to the MV and the hobby..and thats part of the FUN it is only a HOBBY and i think some people lose sight of that. Off soap box now Regards Lloyd
  18. Hi Jeroen how ya doin......i am still lookin good in the top of Kevins M4A3 E8...... Regards Lloyd
