  1. I would look for some photos of the relevant personnel doing the kind of action you wish to portray, and use them as the basis for your 'look'. trevor
  2. Am I alone in a secret desire to partly bury a box for a model spitfire in the sand, photograph it and announce it as proof? :-D trevor
  3. I love the way you will be preserving parts of the original paint! On the camo panel, is the brown in the middle rust or an earlier coat of brown? trevor
  4. I take that by filing buttons you mean those discs you have strapped to the part as guide to filing the curve? trevor (who was not thinking about the filing clerk's blouse buttons at all)
  5. Hmm... Mamerki is 417 km away, probably a bit far for a sunday drive taking a shovel... trevor
  6. Well that looks all nice and tidy, and a good bit of progress trevor
  7. I think I need that explained a bit, to the NBC system of what? :red: trevor
  8. I see it has specially designed holes in the floor to ensure your tools and sundries drop through at the most opportune moment :-D trevor
  9. Here are some things that come to mind. Are you absolutely sure that the cam timing is right? I see you have replaced many of the components (haven't we all been there...), but are you sure that the ignition is receiving a consistent supply? Which plug leads do not produce a consistent flash on your timing light? Some? All? Have you pulled the plug leads off and tested to see you can get a consistent spark to jump to a head stud? These things are darn frustrating, because you cannot see the fault... trev
  10. Hot damn, it has been nearly 40 years, I can almost smell them thru the screen... trevor
  11. Well, I don't particularly believe in having ex-military hand weapons around, but I don't see why my opinion should be the only one. More to the point, rather than sitting around blaming someone else or looking to find shoulders to cry on, I like to do something about the imposition of any unnecessary restriction of freedom or poorly thought through regulations. So I signed. https://www.change.org/p/council-of-the-european-union-eu-you-cannot-stop-terrorism-by-restricting-legal-gun-ownership I just need to help find another 175,000 other people now Less whine, more wine, I always say! trevor
  12. Well, at least you can see where to weld now. Would it be relatively easy to find a replacement gun for it? trevor
  13. One could always give one's sheet of Izal a little scrunch beforehand to give it that extra scratching power to get one through the day. trevor
  14. And maybe a rotating tub to ensure everything gets cleaned and the solution does not stagnate, and perhaps a built in pump and filter...? trevor
  15. How secure is this shed, then? Do I need to bring something to distract a dog or anything? trevor
  16. Rather than complain, rather than pretend that EU people are different people from us, why not do the simple thing and follow the due process of EU law complaints? Finding that kind of stuff is what Google and similar are for. Following that route is partly what being a citizen is about. I would do it myself, but these days I find firearms only mildly interesting; however I would sign an EU e-petition thingy if someone arranged one. trevor
  17. I liked the oatmeal block, while, if one were bored, one could suck the condensed milk straight from the tube. I do not remember that colour of packaging from the packs I saw, from the mid-70s onwards. trevor
  18. Well, since you do not appear to be in Poland I _should_ be safe To be honest, I would not play around with a weapon like this without the assistance of an explosives expert and certainly not be close to it when it was lit. I hope you are considering a remote form of trigger, and somewhere to hide in case it is not just a plain vanilla type, or if it gets frisky, or if it simply decides not to remain where you put it. A drone might be useful to video the result (worst comes to worst, at least the news team will have some interesting material to show us trevor
  19. On the passenger door catch mechanism, is there a little catch/lever thingy on it, accessible from inside the cab? Was it on old Minis that I saw something like that? Alternatively, maybe the hinges have rusted solid? trevor
  20. Well, I am no specialist on bullet holes, but they kind of do resemble genuine bullet impact holes I have seen on buildings here in Poland. Still, could be a good talking point at shows! trevor
  21. Thanks, I had not previously considered that the name meant anything at all trevor
  22. So, does that mean that 'Kettenrad' really means 'chains wheels' ? trevor
  23. I read somewhere that part way through the war they changed the way manufacturers' names should be written on data plates on all equipment so that the enemy did not effectively have an address to bomb. In which case a change to G & J W sounds reasonable. trevor
  24. What diameter are those bullet holes in the plating? Are they only on one side of the vehicle? trevor
  25. Hi, Andy, is there any chance that the clearance between the pedal mechanism and the master cylinder needs adjusting? I just have a nagging memory about the MW related to that. trevor
