  1. Join us as we mark the anniversary of D Day and the 75th anniversary of the opening of the US ATC. Event aimed at vehicle owners and living history groups. Based at Cobbaton Combat Collection with large road run through Barnstaple and Braunton to the training area, vehicles will the proceed in convoy over the dunes where the US Army trained in 1943/44 to visit the concrete LCT structures where you will form up for a ceremony. After out onto Saunton beach for a blast up and down the beach. Back at Cobbaton will be a BBQ and film, then on the Sunday a chill out etc. Armour already booked plus 30 other vehicles, so dont miss out, this is your chance to drive on the original training areas.   3. Fantastic News, The Chivenor Military Wives Choir will be performing on Saturday 6th June at Saunton Sands Car Park. This event is getting bigger and bigger, all we need now is a Sherman and a DUKW to join the 46 strong convoy!:cool2:

  5. I would like to announce a new event for next year, 2015, called 'Devon D Day' it is to be held at the Cobbaton Combat Collection over the 5th-7th June 2015. Held in conjunction with the Devon area MVT, Friends of the Assault Training Center, Cobbaton Combat Collection, it will feature an education day on the Friday for local schools, Saturday the 6th will see a vehicle road run from Cobbaton to Braunton Burrows and a visit to some of the remaining structures with a wreath laying ceremony at one of the concrete LCT's then out onto the invasion training beach up to Saunton to form up and display to the public. After returning to Cobbaton in the evening there will be a film show and barbecue. The Sunday will be based at Cobbaton with living history group displays, bring and buy sale and vehicles on display plus the museum to look around. please go towww.assaulttrainingcenterfriends.co.uk to download a booking form. We are looking for living history groups plus ww2 vehicles to join in.
  6. Hi everyone just thought i'd let you know about the event which takes place at Woolacombe in North Devon on the 31st Aug-1st Sept 2013. It is to mark 70 years since the opening of the center which trained over 10,000 mainly American troops the tactics they would need to invade France. Held over two days there will be living history groups, US military vehicles, beach invasion, film shows plus much more. If you would like to come along with your vehicle/group please contact Richard Bass on his website www.assaulttrainingcenter.com, there is only so much room at the site so please dont delay! There is much more info to come and i will update as it's available.
  7. Hi everyone just joined, i came to A&E 2012 and filmed it, had a ride and thoroughly enjoyed it. look for the film on youtube under my name (nigel worth) am involved with organising an event in woolacombe for 2013 (70th ann of ATC)
