  3. Thank you very much this is just the info I need.
  4. I have obtained a complete tabby night vision kit, this includes goggles power unit all wiring and even the headlamp filters. I remember an article in wheels and tracks many years ago about these, I think they were the earliest type of infra-red goggles. I intend to dislay this kit and was wondering if anyone knows where I may obtain a copy of this article so I can condense the info and display it with the kit. Or if anyone has any other info on this kit I would be interested. Thanks.
  5. if you visit the bedfordshire steam rally in mid september which is held at old warden park, then entry is free to the shuttleworth collection. plenty of mvs to see as well
  6. Thanks to everyone who attended I really enjoyed it, the sat eve do was a great laugh. It was great to drive other peoples vehicles at one time there was 2 ferrets a saladin a marmon-herrington 2land rovers and my goddess all driving round the field at a great speed, what a chance for a video. Will be doing it again next year, hope to see more people there.

  10. hi mike drove the martian and used it for lots of recovery jobs. only repairs i ever did was change the clutch and put new windscreens in, after it was nicked and used to knock down a wall made from engineering bricks. I also remember cutting up an old scammell of yours. It was you that got me into this expensive and time consuming hobby, thanks mike

  16. good idea I am willing to photograph any of my vehicles, just one small point owners must point out any non original parts mods ect or we might have people thinking this is as it should be. 1938 Leyland Retriever 1939 Austin 10 1918 Douglas 1941 Matchless g3l 1944 Ariel w/ng 1956 Goddess
  17. p=panel light The illedgible one may be hand throttle S=start It may be advisable to crack open the fuel union on the carb inlet and pump fuel up till it sqirts out then tighten union and prime up to fill carb. check for voltage at coil if no voltage with ignition on then put live feed to ign switch side of coil. pour about a half an eggcup full of fresh fuel down middle of carb then turn over, this nearly always works but stand back away from engine just in case of flying fanbelt ect. Good reliable engine so should run . Best of luck.
  18. I was at a show when a chap was looking around my retriever. he said my front wheels were on backwards. this would mean front wheels sticking out past mudguards. Then he listed about 20 other major 'faults' with it. Later this 'expert' asked me if it was for sale, I told him I could not sell it with all these faults. Never saw him again.... Other thing I see often is the expert with a group of his young followers look at a vehicle the expert will then tell a story or should I say he talks b---ocks then walks off quickly before his followers can see through him, these people dont seem to like his mistakes being pointed out in public.
  19. Good job we did not wait for an invitation 65 years ago

  23. I have been going to Stoke Goldington for many years, very friendly atmosphere. Picture 8 is my Leyland Retriever 1937. Picture 12 is my Goddess painted to represent a goddess used by the Army Fire Service in Aden. The military used a few of these they differed very slightly to the Auxilary fire service ones. Very little is written about the Army Fire Service, they were part of the RASC. The badge on the side was blown up from one 2" high. If any one can give me any info on this organisation I would be most gratefull.
