  3. My "relative" works at the ATDU at Bovvy and has told me there is an abundance of Spartans in Storage that have little or no mileage on them since dieselisation took place and that is what is being used.
  4. Sent to me by a serving mate, CVRT vehicle known as Scimitar 2, adapted the same as the Sabre, reminds me of the 432/30. Apparently done due to lack of hulls.

  6. Hello and welcome, you'll fit in as we are all mad here.:nut:
  7. Congratulations, I hope the both of you will always be happy, (meaning the bride of course).
  8. Hello all, I'm off to the Fleedwood area from 4th-11th June with work. Hoping to have a couple of days off while I'm there. Does anybody know of any places of interest I could visit while I'm there. Willing to travel 1-2 hours. Many thanks.
  9. One episode re wrong fuel I remember is, whilst serving in NI we were stationed at a "Outstation" when after a night border patrol a veh driver filled his veh with Avtur, which we kept as a reserve store. Needless to say the fuel and engine did not go together well at all. first went the exchaust and then the engine literally disintigrated. By the way the veh was a ferret.

  15. I have my user handbook somewhere, I'll have a look and se what it says about auto fire.
  16. Alien, Later on in life I became RMQ. I used to have "fun" sessions once the serious shooting was done (if we had the ammo spare). I did this with most weapons that we were using.
  17. Yes quite a few times, the Idea is to pull the butt into your stomach at belt buckle height, grip pistol grip with right hand and push down on barrel cover with the left hand. This helps to prevent weapon climb on auto.
  18. Is anybody going to the Ponderosa War Weekend In July, I'm going as a visitor and a mate is going as a clothing dealer. http://www.ponderosa-warweekend.co.uk/index.html
  19. I can remember giving a demo on Lulworth Ranges to the Sqn, Sgt Bevan was the cmdr I was the gnr. we also did a canister demo at the same time. Ther was/are 2 types of granade, 1 very similar in operation to the hand held smake grenade and 1 phospherous whish burst milliseconds after leaving the launch tube, very dangerous these ones you have to be closed down to fire them and they can be surceptable to certain radio freqs.
  20. I have a picture somewhere of a Scorpion with the Rifle bracket on, I'll have look for it and post it.
