  4. Spoke with some ex 15/19H, some have given me names for pers in pic 1 & 2, and have confirmed Munster/Soltau 1965-1966.
  5. I've checked a copy of the 1966 Regt. Journal the personnel stated in pic 3 are personnel serving at the time. 2/lt JC Barclay 1st Tp. “B”Squadron Tp Ldr. The Regiment was also visited at Soltau by the Colonel of the Regiment, Colonel Ä. D. Taylor, M.C., who appeared to be generally impressed by all he saw, but was very prepared to give useful advice and criticism especially with regard. to the question of Infantry Tank co-operation. Pics not good enough to check the types of track.
  6. I've checked a couple of Regt Hists. The 15/19H were on Cents in BAOR from 1 April 1965-25 Jan 1968, went to Tidworth.1970 converted to Chieftain. Other pics of Cents, but none with "Hush Puppies"

  8. Whilst serving with JLR RAC at Stanley Barracks, Bovington Camp 72-74, we as part of our guard duty was to patrol round the tank museum. One of the many tales going the rounds was the haunting of this tiger by a dead crewman, allegedly found in the veh when it had been sent to the UK. The name of course was herman the German. We at the time were only young lads of 15-17, and only armed with a pickaxe handle this was scary at times, as all you coukd hear were strange noises coming from within the museum building.:wow:

  15. Alien, I thought you joined in 1975, the same as me? Barry
  16. I served on CVR from 76-98, we mainly left the thing in camp when we were out on exercise.
  17. 13/18 H were a DD regt on D Day. They landed on sword beach, see attached link. http://www.sgtjohnbarnes.com/Memoirs-John-Barnes.pdf
  18. In all the time I served we never used the Radiac mast. The only thing we carried as part of the CES was the protective sleeve that mounted to the roof of the turret. they were only issued as CES on CVR(T) as they had a NBC pack and CVR(W) didn't. They were designed to be used during NBC recces to detect and plot areas of radiation.
  19. Also during the film when the voiceover stated that the disarmed gunner dismounted, he in fact came out of the commanders hatch and not the gunners.
  20. Ref #67, Has ther been a accident/collision, the Chally behind has lost a track as well. the one in the foreground has shed the opposite track as well.
  21. Yes D Sqn, Obviously we know each other.

  25. Lazy D is when the D is lying so the straight upright is lying down, so it looks like an arch. Barry
