  1. I hope that the apocalypse that they were planning for didn't involve any rain. They hadn't put the wiper blades or motors back on at the end.
  2. Hi, does anybody know the Landrover part number for the universal joints in the double joint on the front propshaft of a Snatch Landrover. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Hi Steve, many thanks for clearing that up.
  4. When I was in Cyprus in the late 1990s it was just before the last of the Series 3s were withdrawn. All of the Landrover 90s and 110s had a different pattern of roll bar compared to their UK counterparts. The roll bar had a removable top section that was held in place by pins. I was reminded of this because there is one for sale on ebay. I have attached the photos so that you can see what I'm talking about. I'm hoping that somebody can tell me what the purpose of the removable section is, and why it was required in Cyprus.
  5. Hi Jon, Thanks for that. I thought that might be where they came from, but couldn't find any pictures. I suppose somebody kept the gas plug as a spare so they could swap it and clean it later. Thanks again. Jochen.
  6. I came across this gas plug and cleaning tool the other day. It is British with a broad arrow and D mark on the gas plug. The cleaning tool is dated 1976. Does anybody know which weapon it is from?
  7. Thanks Robin, that's a good help. I'll have a look on Amazon and Ebay and try to track down a copy. Good luck with the house. J.
  8. Thanks very much for the offer, but it's quite a bit different. While the Pinky one goes through the floor and attaches to the chassis outrigger, the Series 3 one fits to a strengthening plate which lies on top of the floorplate and footwell and is fastened in by the standard floor bolts. I suppose they made them like that so that they could be swapped from vehicle to vehicle without leaving too much damage. Thanks again, I'll find some pictures eventually.
  9. I was wondering if anybody out there could help with some information. I have most of a No. 11 Mk. 1 GPMG mount for the front of a Series 3 Landrover. I am missing the plate that fits in the footwell and supports the mounting post as well as the brackets that fit in the dash panel to brace the post. Any drawings or pictures to help me make the missing parts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  10. I am in the process of rebuilding a Series 3 LWB Landrover Recce vehicle. I have the No.11 Mk.1 GPMG mount for the front bulkhead and the cranked post that it sits on. I am missing the plate that bolts to the floor that the post sits on and the bracket that goes onto the dash with the four captive bolts to support it. If anybody has either of these parts going spare please get in touch. Failing that, if anyone has detailed photos of the parts, that would be much appreciated.
  11. I bought a Landrover Lightweight fuel tank from Britpart. The cap didn't fit, the pick up tube didn't fit and even the filler tube wouldn't fit into the tank. Total rubbish. How hard can it be?
  12. Hi, I live in Northumberland and own an ex-army Landrover Series 11A. At the moment I am collecting the parts to build either a Series 111 Recce vehicle or a series 11A Pinky replica. I haven't quite decided yet, but the pile of parts is building up.
