Thanks guys. Ref the record card: RAF West Raynham 18/12/72 Marham - West Raynham 19/1/76 The history card confirms its colour as Blue/Grey, It also looks like it might have been used by 100 Sqn which was flying Canberras

I am trying restore my LWT Land Rover back to its former glory. I need a colour photo - if possible showing any decals etc. My lwt is one of the 1st Series 3`s that entered the RAF in 20.11.72 . Any images would be great. Reg no. 53AM78

There was supposed to be lots of kit dumped in Lough Erne near Enniskillen in County Fermanagh. I was asked many years ago if I would help retrieve some of the Jeeps that were dumped. I didn`t as the gear was supposed to be covered in razor wire :shocked:. If you want a Sunderland there has been sonar surveys carried out in Lough Erne and again there is supposed to be a few sitting on the Lough bottom. Water visibilty less than 1" due to the peat water.

Awesome job. I spent 20+ years exploring ww1 + ww2 ship and submarine wrecks and sonar would have made it much easier. I have an internet business selling products worldwide.

Fantastic thread. This should be an inspiration to everyone. I have been thinking on enrolling on a welding course and after seeing what you have done maybe in 20 years time I will be able to accomplish the same (except I will be 70) .

A few years ago I was diving in the Irish sea and a Lancaster and a Flying Fortress flew over our boat, the noise was awesome. Watching your clip sent a shiver through me. Thanks for uploading it.

The Empire Heritage was a fuel tanker with some cargo. There are also some trucks scattered about the sea bed as well. If anyone wants any more information, try contacting the diving club in Dowings in Co.Donegal and try and speak to Kevin. Back in 2002 I dived a lot of the Malin Head wrecks in the 55m-80m range, they were all victims of u-boats. One wreck had bottles of wine and champagne in wooden boxes, some bottles still had the corks in them :-D but I wouldn`t advise drinking any of it. The diving was fantastic but it nearly cost me my life, great viz but still very deep and not to be taken lightly.

Thats the one, thanks for posting. I was a bit `narced` (like being drunk) when I dived it and don`t remember as much as I would like.

Hi, Approx 10 years ago I dived The Empire Heritage (fuel tanker) that sank off Malin Head in approx 60m+ carrying Sherman tanks and general cargo. I wondered has anyone any photographs of this amazing ship? Thanks in advance.

Hi Clive, Here is the photograph I mentioned. I dived a wreck called The Empire Heritage, was a fuel carrier that sank in 60m with Sherman tanks onboard. The skipper of our boat dropped the shot line on top of a tank - awesome

Hi Clive, I will have a dig about but I didn`t carry a camera I have a photo somewhere of the huge amount of gear needed to carry out 1 dive - when I was younger and fitter.

:-D I had a `sixth sense` when diving, I could nearly smell the brass. I was diving in the 50m+ range and most metal detctors didn`t comply but it is something I would love to do now. We dived on some ww1 liners in Donegal with 50m viz @ 80m depth and you could see the cargo etc everywhere. Amazing.
