  1. My current thinking for the set up from what I have already is to complete the C42 set and also see about fitting the A43 set too, and then in time see about getting the rest of the C13 set completed and fitted in the future. Also I took the FFR down the RAF Regiment Heritage Centre last week and the guys there said they used the C42 and A43 on the LAA/LLAD Sqns (Bofors 40/70's) so will be in keeping with that too as the 63 Sqn TAC plate was an LAA/LLAD Sqn in Singapore in the 60's too.
  2. Yep, hopefully I'll be able to find a Larkspur God before too long lol :-)
  3. Yep I have the handbooks cheers mate, its just properly identifying what cables and boxes I need that I'm struggling with at the mo, as in physically seeing and identifying them etc, I see cables on the internet but no idea if I'll be wasting my money buying them and finding out if they're no use, got a few like that already.
  4. And how the back currently looks after a bit of a de-clutter lol.
  5. I Have got a few other bits in the house, I take it this is an O box AndyB?
  6. Been a while since I'v been able to post on here, I have the user handbook you mention mate but it doesn't tell me (as far as I can tell) what cables I need to connect the J boxes etc up to each other that is what I'm really struggling with to find out and physically find too.
  7. Got the coil and resistor box back up to the bulkhead after a mate help make a longer lead for me, sorted a couple of weeping rear hubs and found a previously damaged rear hub and twisted half shaft at the same time, all replaced and repainted too.
  8. Not a lot to report other then taking out to Woolpit steam rally at the weekend and see the guy I brought it off 14 years ago too. and today fitted the Solex carb in place of the incorrect Zenith carb.
  9. Did I see a Wessex helicopter and Abbot SPG in the background too????
  10. Been through Dartford toll a few times with my 109 and swb FFR, both soft tops, they usually "try" and charge me more saying its a van, argued that its a "2 seater convertible" and if they wanted I'll roll the sides up so it cant be a van there and then, always ended up paying the same rates as cars in the end!
  11. Today I did hope to paint the rest of the chassis, ended up dragging the welder out again first :-(
  12. Checking over the brakes and oil levels the other week before the Cottenham Yesteryear run at the weekend I found a couple of rust patches, one above the rear passenger side spring and the other on the drivers front dumb iron. dump iron turned out alot worst then I though so will be replaced before too long but repaired it for the time being though.
  13. Made a Key tag for the FFR today, kept it rough looking as though it had been knocked up my the SQN MT Flight quickly upon arrival. Or is that too much attention to detail lol.
  14. Cheers mate, its actually a 88, or Rover 8 to give it it's military name lol, the dexion came from an ex military series 3 as mine was missing, like most the rear fitting were though.
  15. Can anyone help me with the fitment of larkspur C42 and C13 radio sets in the back of an FFR Land Rover please. I got and fitted the main radios and PSU's a few years ago and got a few connections boxes etc and bolted to the dexion to at least look the part but now I'd like to get it all set up properly, and if possible working too. I'll admit to getting lost when I'v been trying to look online and not really understanding what I need etc but if anyone with a complete set up could post pictures up with what the parts are call and any other information that would be so helpful, of if close enough even meet up and see what I'm missing etc.
  16. Yes they are, as for value I'm not sure, got the 7.62 version to go with my L4 lmg, (though I do have an .303 bren too)
  17. Panels all back in, new panel fitted with nos gauge and checking for leaks too.
  18. New panel painted along with the others and dash area too, and nos fuse box for the radio charging system fitted too. The paint I used a few years ago wasn't quite the right DBG so decide to re do it, the lower part of the bulkhead and seat box etc will get repainted when it comes out to have the original gearbox refitted after its rebuild.
  19. Also managed to track down the right D rings to go onto the rear cross member between the bumperetts too and after receiving the info on the brackets via Facebook set about making them too.
  20. Today at college I took in the current oil temp panel that had another gauge fitted above it to make a new with without the extra gauge. Didn't have any ally in the right thickness so set about using galvanised sheet instead.
  21. No I have't got those ledges at all mate, didn't even know I was missing any either till you said to be honest, something else for me to make lol :-)
  22. Drivers side ATU cable now in place thanks to Wayne's pics from his 40 amp FFR, the old P clips were still in place under the seat box on this side but one was secured underneath a strengthening plate so I opted to drill out a rivet and replace it with a thin bolt with the P clip on there. then fed it up the inner side of the footwell and up and along the bulkhead to the wing and also refitted the storage point too, I'm guessing its had a new splash guard at some point as there were no mounting holes for it.
  23. Cheers mate :-) just in from fitting the drivers ATU cable, will get pics up soon.
  24. Cheers mate, yep I'v got the junction boxes on the left hand side still fitted, but not connected up just yep, need to refit the fuse box to the side of the ammeter panel (once an NOS one arrives from Germany in exchange for an fire extinguisher lol) Like you say the rubber just helps to stop any chaffing etc so its one tiny modification I'm allowing lol :-) I don't believe have any aluminium angle brackets on the rear of the bulkhead, can't see where about they'd go either either, only bits I thought I'v got to remake is the stiffener plates that go from the brackets that hold the rifle brackets and water jerry can holder, unless thats the bit you mean mate ? (a couple of pics of the rear from years ago to help show ya mate :-)) being nosey and curious is all good mate :-)
