    Hi all

First tone poster and looking for some help if I may? I’ve purchased these Dom trousers listed as unissued and 68 pattern I asked the seller and he said they’re 100% 68 but the pattern looks more 85 to me or is it just because they’ve never been washed?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

Pattern or colour will not or does not designate a pattern.

If it has a small Field Dressing Pocket on the hip,its 1968 Pattern,if not, later.

I'm wanting them to be wartime but I've seen plenty of "classic" style ones with same button fastening & waist tie that are mechanics overalls but are white, which isn't an issue as I can get them dyed blue or altered,I had some blue YTS ones in the 80s which thinking back would have done the job now

Funny enough, and not much help in your search Im afraid but I also had 2 pairs of blue overalls/boiler suits when I did YTS in 1987 and from memory they had rubber buttons.

  3. A lot of what you have posted up are mega rare, very high end items and sure unfortunately you will struggle to find anyone that may have any of the items that are willing to let them go.

I have which may possibly be of interest,a 1970s Canadian fur rimmed cold weather parka, used by some members of the Royal Marines and then also by some Argentine soldiers after being liberated from Royal Marines stocks.

Interesting. I didn’t realise there were variations of the ammo pouches. I think all the ones that have passed through my hands have had the ‘uncornered’ flaps.

Perhaps the ones with corners are a later variation as they are closer to the 1990 issue ones?

PS. Since taking the pics above in 2014 I have improved the set with a correct water bottle pouch. That just leaves the respirator haversack and the bergan.

I have a couple of Bergens so one could possibly go. Would come with the correct upside down side pouches but as with 99.9% of the ones you see,the pop studded waist belt is missing.

Thanks for the pics but those are used on the big tanks I think doesn't look like the two kinds I know of I'll check and get back to you thanks again

Regardless of era,Im pretty sure they didnt have different helmets for say Tank crew and CVRT crew, they all wore the same. The one I sent pics of dates I think from the mid to late 80s up to late, early 2000.
