  1. It was probably from a green goddess fire engine
  2. Just been watching "Axe men" on Ch 5, Wed.&Fri. interesting to see yet another use for a Sherman tank hull, it has a crane built on it used to operate the aerial ropeway to haul timber out of the forest
  3. There is no quick & easy way, if you have the use of a car lift and gearbox jack then take the g/box/t/box out from underneath, could try struggling with Jeep up on axle stands and use trolley jack to lower/refit g/box, otherwise its engine out. Whats happened to the clutch? slipping, burnt out? problem may be caused by a weak pressure assembly consider changing that too
  4. Interesting film prop co. liquidation sale, inc Humber pig lot 31, ..by the way its in California http://www.rap3d.net/rpsv/rhino.html

This site is 15 - 20 miles from the Hankley site, I don't think its recognised or even known about, I used to live nearby and thought I knew all the installations, but was not aware of this, never seen any reference to it, the land its on is Crown estate property, access on foot or bicycle is I believe ok
  8. This is what I said in the opening thread, there is the replica Normandy sea wall on nearby Hankley common http://www.thetimechamber.co.uk/Sites/Military/AtlanticWall/AtlanticWall.php
  9. Geoff sold it along with other vehicles to the owner of Bastogne museum, I was on the delivery trip
  10. I know of most of the "stop line" defences in the area, this is in the middle of nowhere, right on surrey/berks border in the centre of a former military training ground

  12. Agree with Richard, the last pics are the sad remains of an E83W Ford. The upside down chassis and engine is possibly Rover, look closely it has an "underslung" chassis which goes under the rear axle

  16. Possible WW2 Concrete anti tank defence training structure? near Bagshot, Surrey/Berkshire border, situated where it is it woulnt have been part of any operational defence system, This is on Crown estate Land, the two white objects on the aerial photo are covered water resevoirs http://www.panoramio.com/photo/7696428
