Hi i found some filters i don't know your location but these are in the U.K. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Reo-2-5-Ton-5-Ton-Oil-Filters-NEW-x-2-/120905127981?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Other_Vehicle_Parts_Accessories_ET&hash=item1c2681d82d
hope it helps
i don't think it would be a good idea to carry a jerrycan full of fuel on you jeep, because as soon as you turn your back someone may find 20 ltrs of free fuel very tempting!!
Hi john
sorry but I'm not 100% sure about the grade of oil you should be using but if millers is for older diesel engines it should be ok.
Maybe it would be better to post a question in the American vehicles section of the forum in the hope that you may get a reply from someone that runs a M-series vehicle
From what i have read about the spin on filter sets for Reo M35 type trucks most of them have anti drain back filters so oil pressure builds faster, so i would of thought that the engine would require slightly more oil to bring it up to the correct level as some would be retained in the filters. For more info have a look on steelsoldiers.com
Hope this helps
I've only seen the first episode and everytime you saw Mr Oliver driving it was an inside shot, which seemed to have been taken in something a lot smaller and lower than a Bedford truck. (just my observation i may be wrong)
this photo looks as it may have been "staged" surely if this aircraft had belly landed there would have been more damage to the grass, this is only my opinion so please correct me if im wrong;)
Please be very careful when fitting seat belts in vehicles that did not have them previously as an ill fitted seatbelt can be more dangerous than no seatbelt at all
" This vehicle will not be issued a 654 and will not be able to be road registered."
the above is also stated on withams advert for a 432. looks like they are covering their backs just in case of any legal issues that may arise in the future from these vehicles being operated on public roads
I think that if people want to drive these vehicles on the road and can manage to do it legally it is up to them, the risk is theirs but it always reminds me of an advert that used to be on t.v for a legal company and their slogan was "where there's blame there's a claim" and with a vehicle of this size and weight any accident is not likely to be a minor one.whoever's fault it may have been
I'm relieved to see that everyone involved in this accident is ok, shame about the aircraft but peoples lives are more important. I'm sure there will be an investigation and a lot of finger pointing but i'm affraid accidents do happen to the most skilled and experianced. Lets just hope that lessons are learnt from this to make events safer for all involed be it participants or spectators
it could be something simple such as some muck floating around in the tank getting into the intank fuel pump and restricting the flow of fuel. also is your intank fuel pump running properly. M54 great looking trucks
Hi there, try looking on steelsoldiers.com this american website is full of info on M series trucks and you can also download maintenace manuals there, as for parts try marltrax they are listed on milweb
hope this helps
I've been to the show for the last two years and i think it gets better each time.
In a time of financial hardship for many and the high cost of fuel i think that the turn out of vehicles was very impressive
maybe the central location of the show helps. Anyway congrats to the organisers :-D
Hi Bob
for all the info you need on M35 trucks try www.steelsoldiers.com there is more info on this site than you can shake a stick at, also you can download the manuals for free
hope this helps
Good looking truck you got there, also a bit safer having the duel circuit braking system, tires look great, I've never seen one of these trucks in the U.K so i guess that they were never deployed in Europe
I'm posting this thread just to get the opinion of you all, who made the best military vehicles be it armour or softskin, whats better was it British U.S or Eastern block ? in the words of Harry Hill "theres only one way to find out FIGHT !!!!!!!"
are you running on straight diesel or using contam, as i am lead to believe that contam with a high percentage of petrol may run at a higher temperature
