  1. Good to see that politics and woolly thinking are still part of the Duxford scene:nut: Not much change in the 30 plus years since I was there. Keep up the good work and don't take the "bodge" route as I did. Regretted it ever since.
  2. I don't think I undersold Saumur, I well recommend a visit be it for tanks, horses, wine or food. Come in July and you might see a King Tiger trundling about.:cheesy:
  3. Yes this is the home of the Cadre Noir and an excellent place to visit it is- if you like horses that is. We have been there a number of times with visitors and it always impresses. It is also France's number one riding school as well as hosting the Cadre Noir which is basically a demonstration of horse riding skills originating from the French Army's Calvary Training School. It is now wholly civilian.
  4. I have to admit that I haven't been for a couple of years. Its too frustrating not to be able to get involved, so I only go when we have visitors who are interested. It costs about a third of price of Duxford to get in though.
  5. Yes, Leclerc. Now the disabled parking spaces are even further from the shop. Doh.
  6. Hello all from Saumur France, close to a certain museum I believe. Been a member for some time but just haven't got round to intros so here it is. I used to live in Cambridge and spent a misspent youth working as a volunteer at Duxford until marriage and children intervened. Great days and I actually met my future wife there but that was 30 + years ago. no money or space for an MV so strictly armchair now. Hats off to those who are active though. I have been following various restoration threads, especially AFV ones with great interest.
