    Top one is a Spartan with a sabre/fox/scimitar turret added. Looks a bit top heavy to me.

    sass have been going for a few years now and never once heard a bad thing about the kit. Bit pricey though. And not sure if members of the british sf have used there kit in the past. The thing i liked about there catalogues though , you could choose items to be added to your smock for a little extra money like knitted cuffs or secret pockets to hide silk maps. They where made to m.o.d. speck gaberdine so would last . And nice L1A1 , did my basic in 89 with one and much prefare it to the L85 A1 and A2 .

    Its called an ancillary bag sling and comes from the radio bags issued to vehicles. The bag is the same size more are less as a resi bag . But it has been known for these to be used on the M249P and gimpy .

    Great news, i guess the only way your going to prevent vehicles in the future from being nicked is have people walking around the show ground or some sort of cctv at the entrance and exit to the ground. And have a secure container run by the organisers for small arms if people don't have other means to secure them after hours.

    Just an idea but there is loads of footage on youtube of the 2012 event . There could be something vital on there, even better than cctv. Like i say just an idea.

    Just seen you add on milweb so i have posted the link on 2 military land rover groups on FB , just in case anyone gets offered a 50cal cheap. but hope with the help from the MV community you get the vehicle back in one piece and soon..

    Cheers guys much appretiated on the info . I got a guy asking about the masts he had thought they where for the bowman system but wasn't sure . Looking at the picture i would put it at late 80's early 90's as dpm jungles where used more in the field then the thicker combats .

    One thing timbo had mist out of his excellent and spot on post was if your a stoutly fellow like me then the drivers compartment is a lot user friendly with the hull being more slanted than say the scimitar/sabre variant. And you can get in to that position with the seat up

    A friend of mine has just bought a 90 hard top from there just before the christmas period . It had a recon 2.25na with wolf rims . And its had a recent paint job .. He was a member serving at the time he got this ! So asked the reme to inspect it and advised him to remove the 24v generator and battery box . Apart from that its a good solid rover . I've had a drive and apart from the clutch pedal being quite high for me being 6ft 3 it was a pleasure to drive . Brought back some good and bad memories He plans to seal the chassis and paint the inside and sound proof the cab..

    You could use brake fluid .It works on plastic so there's no fear of it damaging the material . But i would use little bits first as a trail run .

    I was a bit disappointed in the tittle saying war horse and there's not one Geordie in the film . Telling fibs there . I'm looking forward to seeing this . Would rather watch it a home snuggled up with the little lady . Not sure if people have noticed the mk1 tank on youtube and the truck on sale on milweb from the film .
