  1. Nice Jeep The holes in the front fender are for the frame, which could hold an ammo box or first aid pouch. Not sure what the holes in the rear fenders are for, as there were a few different mods. Could even have been for a radio mount or airborne mod. I note that Deepcut has been refered too for data. I do not see him as a listed member. Is there a way to contact him? I am collecting data on Canadian WW2 used jeeps and trailers. He might be able to provide some data as many Canadian jeeps were turned over to the British rather than to ship them back to Canada or they were traded during the war. Thanks Eric
  2. Hello Karl There were a few different versions of the CDN Stretcher Jeep. The bunk bed style originally had brackets bolted onto the front sides and rear of the body to hold the frame. The spare tire and fuel carrier were relocated and the front passenger seat back was hinged. The later version had the frames attached to the body with clamps. The front brackets attached to the door strap hooks and the drain holes were enlarged for the base to sit in. You can see the two different styles in the earlier photos. There were also different two stretcher versions, which mounted on the rear. The original had a wooden frame, while the airborne mod had a folding bracket. The last version had a bolted on extension for the stretchers. Your rear corner mount tube does not look like part of any stretcher frame structure that i know off. unless it was for a frame for an overhead canvas protection. You can e-mail me at cmpmagazine@hotmail.com. I am collecting data on CDN WW2 Jeeps and trailers. Thanks Eric
  3. Hello I have been collecting Canadian built and used 5 cwt and 10 cwt trailer serial and WD numbers. If you think yours was used by the Canadians at some point send me the serial number and i can look it up in my files. I am also collecting Canadian WW2 jeep data as well. Thanks Eric (Canada) cmpmagazine@hotmail.com

  6. I was just talking to another collector today who has a CDN Contract RCAF Jeep. When he sanded it down he saw a gloss blue body with white lettering. Sorry no photos. Eric
  7. Hello Rick I have 134881 as a 15 April 42 and 137551 23 April 42. Both are not Canadian Contract. These ones are in the USA. Thanks Eric
  8. Hello Unfortunately i do not have any photos of the blue jeeps. A friend who works for somebody who collects WW2 Vintage Fighter Aircraft has film footage in their collection with a blue jeep seen briefly in one of the shots. I have seen a black and white photo of a gray jeep for the RCN. It was parked next to an CDN Army jeep and the colour was noticeably different. I have heard from veterans as well that some were blue. There are some photos on somebodies web page with Tactical Airforce Jeeps, which are a solid green. Similar to the one in this forum. Eric
  9. Hello Rick Your MB would be a Canadian Contract 505 Jeep, possibly 28 Aug 1942. 170371 and 170393 are back here in Canada. This would have had the electric wiper motor, no gas can, possibly no fender light but these all could have been changed or added while in service. The vehicle could have been left in Britain after the war by the Canadians or traded by the Canadian for jeeps already on the Continent. If you sand down the sides of the hood carefully you may find the WD number or the tailpanel where the gas can carrier would be. There should be a C at the beginning. This could have been painted over if provided to the British but the number would have remained the same. You should also have a toggle switch with a data plate, or the holes of on the left side of the steering wheel for the Convoy axle light. I am collecting Canadian WD, serial numbers and other Canadian Jeep data. Thanks Eric
  10. Hello Actually everybody is right. I have seen orders stating that RAF vehicles in operational theaters were to be painted camouflage. I have also seen photos of them in Britain painted blue. Then there are some photos of the ones in the far east, which were Khaki or some other solid green. So it depends on where you wish to have it representing. The same thing went for RCAF vehicles. Eric
  11. Hello Folks There is a new jeep book out on the market. The WW2 Jeep in Canadian Service. It is available from Service Publications http://www.servicepub.com Not sure of the price. Thanks Eric
  12. Hello Robert I have received the data that you have sent me. :-) Unfortunetly i already have this info but i was mssing the front page, so not a complete waste of time on your part. I appreciate you taking the time and sending the info. It actually is a better copy than i have as well. I have seen a version of this on a jeep a while back on an unknown web page and have been trying to track it down. I know that it is in the Netherlands. It would be interesting to see it complete. The Canadian War Museum will be setting up a Jeep with the same set up sometime in the future. Thanks again. Eric
  13. Hello Tony and Robert I have seen Wireless for the warrior, however the #19 set attachments are not what i was looking for . I have had some assistance from Chris at whiskytown wireless who is also involved with the #19 set web but unfortunately he has limited info on Jeep installations as well. Robert your info sounds very interesting. Don't think i have that one. I am at cmpmagazine@hotmail.com. Just in case anybody is interested. I know there is a Car 5 cwt #19 high power installation manual dated 1950's in the Royal Signals Museum. They will make copies for a fee. Thanks Eric
  14. That would be great. No rush. Is there any Data that you are looking for? Thanks Eric :-)
  15. Hello Robert Whatever you have would be appreciated. My e-mail is cmpmagazine@hotmail.com. I am also the editor of the Ontario Military Vehicle Association's magazine. ( Canada) The fuel can was mounted on the rear left of the jeep and was interchangable with the standard water can with the wide mouth as well. Also know as the Jerry can or the Ameri can. Thanks Eric
