  1. Hi. Not exactly known where and when this photo was taken but do know it was members of 246 Battery 62nd Anti-tank Regiment on an exercise. Could any forum members help identify the gun in the photo. It looks like a 2 pounder to me, as they were issued this size gun early in the war but were later issued 6 pounders as well. Any help would be much appreciated.
  2. I have some pictures taken of the interior of Rex Cadman's Achilles this year at the show. Would you like them posted on here?
  3. Thanks for the update Adrian and nice to see the photos of your M10 at W&P. Just a pity we went to the show on the first day and missed all three together being towed in the ring. Next year perhaps!
  4. Hi all My first time posting on this forum and very interested in the M10 Achillles in particular. I've read this thread through from the beginning and found all of it to be very enlightening and obviously shows how dedicated many people are in respect of preserving all historic military vehicles. Since learning last year of my late father-in-laws wartime activities as the driver of an M10 Wolverine and later of an Achilles, after the Wolverine got blown up in a minefield (an allied minefield as it happens), I've been researching all I can on the M10. My wife and I were lucky enough to get a ride around the arena at this years W&P show in Rex Cadman's Achilles after spending over an hour investigating every nook and cranny of the machine. It's great to read on this thread that another Achilles is nearing completion and I hope that it's finished soon, as from what I've read and seen on these pages, it's going to be a real credit to it's owner and the restoration team. Does anyone have any updates on progress? If anyone has any interest in our story, here's a link to a thread on a forum I'm sure many of you are familiar with: http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/ww2-museums-events-places-see/37395-war-peace-show-2011-dream-come-true.html What I find extremely gratifying is the way people on forums such as these treat each other with respect rather than go at each other like hammer and tongs, as they do on many other speciality forums (aviation ones in particular which is my past-time). Look forward to discussing all manner of subjects on here and although not a total expert on No 19 sets, they are of particular interest to me, as in the 60s when you could pick them up for less than a fiver, they were often used by a bunch of us who played around with pirate radio ideas from the back of vans in London area (until the GPO caught up with us).:-(
