  5. at any other show i may have moaned, but there i was grateful they flushed!
  6. well enjoyed the show as always, amazing to see so many fantastic vehicles and a huge effort put in my many people. just a couple of points... 1. its a shame the rules aren't the same for everyone, could not help but notice how in certain areas the support vehicles and civvy tents out numbered the mv's by a large number! and yet i had a leaflet put on my car overnight to move it into the car park!! didn't arrive until 2145 and the leaflet was there by 0800, amazing!. and before any one whinges on about should be driving my mv there, i deliver vehicles for other people on a trailer. 2. uniforms in the bar, is there any need? all it does it cause fights, again and again at many shows, i have spotted that problems usually occur with a disco dancing SS officer, and someone who thinks that maybe the reenactment finished several hours ago, oh and the fact that they don't even at least remove head dress in the bar! Not picking on just SS i don't see the need for any uniforms (unless genuine military) in the bar at night. The re-enactors do a fantastic job during the day and put on a very impressive and educational display for all to see, but the show finishes at 1800. Saturday night in the Ginger Gammon was just another occasion of this problem, maybe not helped by some cheeky little stickers floating around and T-Shirts :-) and the toilets, but thats a dead end! Rant over, looking forward to next year, where ever it may be Baz
  7. Nothing new!!!! this topic has been the topic of many forums and letters! still nothing changes, although the toilets near us in the americas field weren't too bad!
  8. taken the Jeep round a few times in the past, no doubt will go around again this year, the deep water section at the end use to fill my jeep tub up like a pond! wet bum for the driver!!!!:-)
  9. Nice one cheers fellas, its a cargo variant. I was wondering if a Jeep rear seat could be adjusted, makes life easier, and cheers for the hint on the inner screen. I will post some pics when i get it home Cheers Baz
  10. Very nice trucks you have there, did you restore them yourself? whats the spares situation like for them? any items in particular that are very hard to get hold of? I ask as i am in the process of doing a deal on one that needs a bit of work and i know nothing about them, I will have to source/make a passenger seat for it and a inner windscreen (may be able to use something else?)
  11. Well its been a while since i updated the blog (work work work) I have managed to sneek a few hours in on the Bedford and got the following done Mounted scammell coupling rebuilt distributor and fitted electronic ignition made the exhaust system (exits by drivers door) stripped out the rear hubs and made all new wheel studs made new front wheel studs made all new wheel nuts! found a full set of 10.50 x 16 tyres + extras :-) fitted front tyres rebuilt rear brakes, new cylinders rebuilt master cylinder rebuilt front brakes grit blasted all the remaining bits repaired the fuel tank repaired the vacuum tank repaired the trailer brake servo, a Dewandre vacuum servo, anybody got any? The replacement cab has had major surgery as the seats need to be moved out by 2 inches to allow room for the extra levers in the cab, nearly all done now though. making progress but slow going, next job is to get it running and fit the cab.

I love all the dressed up Jeeps with every bolt on goody that can be bought!!!!! especially the Hotchkiss 101st Airbourne jeeps!!! how did they get them all in the planes? and yes, the markings on my own Jeep are post war, The British army still had them in service in 1947! and NO they didn't have sirens! aaaarrrgggghhhhh!!! rant over :-)
