  1. I would attempt it but haven`t got the facilities.
  2. Anyone out there had their combat rims straightened? I have a set and would prefer to use them but all are buckled. Phil.
  3. Thanks chaps, Thought about doing it myself but not sure if the shaft is damaged.
  4. Hi, my generator rear bush has worn and needs repairing. Is there anyone who has experience of this type of job. My local electrical motors shop had a look but says its a bit beyond his scope [probably needs machining]. Generator is a late type with sealed bearing at front and bush at rear. Phil
  5. I don`t think they had a specific maker so could be fitted with Firestones, Goodyear etc. Ford made their own tyres early in the war but read somewhere that Russia had all the equipment off them to produce over there. Size is usually 600 x 16. Only seen firestones available lately. Phil
  6. Thanks Paul, much appreciated
  7. Hi. Thinking of buying a 30 or 50 cal copy (originals just too pricey). Trying to find some feedback on cross fire but can't find much on the internet. Nice to see some pics if anyone's got any, also do they make jeep mounts? Phil

Thanks for all your responses. Very helpful. Regards Phil
  9. Hi Michael, looks like only one of those springs is a Ford mate, what sort of money we talking about for just that one? Regards Phil

    tank sealer

Hi guys, I have a very slight leak in my GPW fuel tank so was hoping to try one of these sealers you pour in and slosh about. Anyone had any experiences with them good or bad and which should I opt for? Phil
  11. Send me some pics if you can please.
  12. Thanks Pete, got my eye on that. Cheap buy it now but shipping gets silly the more you add!
  13. Now looking for the Ford spring clamps/clips if anyone can help. Phil
  14. Thanks Pete, actually only need fronts so fingers crossed.
  15. Hi, its a long shot but has anyone got any odd Ford springs to maybe make a pair from these. All are slightly odd i.e clamps in different place on the rear ones. One is probably post war. Any advice appreciated. Live in Birmingham. Phil

    Tents

Hi, looking to buy a US small wall tent. Original ones I know are a rarity but who makes a quality copy in the UK, is there much difference between 13oz or 16oz weights. Advice greatly appreciated. Phil
  17. Thanks again for reply, that gives me something to go on so will look at the weekend
  18. Good stuff, will do that tomorrow. Thanks
  19. Thanks for your reply. The leak is actually coming from the nut in front of the pulley so am I right to assume that if the leak was at the seal it would come from the back of the pulley? Phil
  20. I have a problem with an oil leak that looks like its coming from the pulley crank nut [ not the back of the pulley] and flicking oil around. The pulley seal was changed so fairly confident its not that. Is there a seal that should go behind the nut? Phil
  21. Will give it a go. Would like to keep the cable I have as it looks like an original metal type. Would the inner cable be damaged but not show i.e stretched? Thanks Phil
  22. Thanks Paul, will try that first and see how it goes. Regards Phil
  23. Trying to sort out my speedo in my GPW,needle just bounces. Whats the most common problem for this. My cable is a little tight [53"] but looks in good order. Is there anyone in UK who has experience in servicing jeep speedometers? Phil
  24. Thanks for your replies guys, been busy over weekend so haven`t had time to check forum, may have been a bit premature with my diagnosis. When these things happen I always fear the worst! Pump seems to have packed up so changed that and seems to be keeping pressure but hasn`t had a run yet. Would like to rebuild at some point so will keep posts for future reference. Phil
