  1. This was fun - the sub headings were 1.5mm instead of 1.3mm but otherwise ok
  2. Time to fix some minor details: 1) the warning sign - fun enough there are self adhesive right type of letters to buy on the net and the yellow spray in a an ordinry car parts dealer 2) Sabre barrel holder - a bit harder to find
  3. Yeah, I guess those wire nets were local workshop initiatives so no need to do to get "originality" in your resto. Cool you got hold of a gun -Mine is actually only a pipe - easy to get hold of and without any legal implications -I would have needed to get a license for it otherwise.
  4. Hi, I think I know what you mean, I have a wire net over the louvers on my other, pure UK Sabre's hatches but, No - not on this one. I used normal white mineral/oil based paint. Axle support bracket were ok. Yes all parts get in and out without removing the turret. It's just about dismantling everything I pieces- work needs anyway since the needed brushing & repaint and new bolts/screws.
  5. I have a Scimitar barrel holder (for 30mm Rarden) and would like to replace and get a Sabre barrel holder instead. (See pic of the one I offer) BR Richard
  6. Would anyone have a chair cushion and/or commander's seat to sell?
  7. With rubber caps on the replica smoke dischargers look the part and the Sabre is starting to look ok. But still lots to do, Turret interiors as well as external boxes upcoming.
  8. Proper Smoke discharger mockups made, painted and ready to be mounted
  9. Ahh, and I thought I was uniquely smart :)) Well, One could say that Phenix has many lives. Perhaps it becomes a category number for Belgian converts. Great that you made the film, thanks!
  10. Givning it this identity in honour of this poor chap that went to scraps in 2013 after a Whitman auction 🥲: Phenix lives😁:
  11. NOW the fun with painting, mounting boxes, number plates and turret interiour etc begins- to be
  12. The summer came and.. hired a workshop to help out with the torsion bars - great result! Should have done it direct. Finally the vehicle is standing up !
  13. You are so correct, CVRT- do you have, how much do you want , and Do you have both L/R ones ?
  14. In need of a couple more Torsion bars, new or take offs for CVRT ( not sure left or right- unsure what I already have- how to tell the difference)
  15. Interesting to hear. Do post some photos when/if you have time ! : )
  16. Thanks ! Small update, the project been standing mode for a while since we discovered that not only one but 2 torsion bars were off and needed replacement. One wheel on each side. Now they are off so as som the spring comes we’ll replace the bars ( not easy ) and install the wheels again. Next step is to mount all external boxes, and finally replace the worn Tracks with anew set.
  17. About to check the oil level in the wheel hubs and the identifying a tired a torsion bar to replace on the right side. Quickly we found out the effects of too many short garage starts with too long time in between. Result 1: a full day trying to solve a fuel pump gone amok just to find that it was a stuck float in the carburettor that was the cause, with the effect that whole system became flooded with fuel - learning: secure empty carburettor before storage (in this case only a month/couple of weeks was enough) Result 2: 3-4 cylinders igniting with huge white /grey smoke screen as effect. Learning: cleaned spark plugs makes a whole world of difference We'll take the torsion bar thing next time..
  18. Time for a couple of weeks pause . Short drive to the garage:
  19. I would be very interested to know that, what the ring is for
  20. As for smoke dischargers I have only found replica bases sofar, The actual tubes are something else out of metal and preliminary, but painted they will do until I am ready to source tubes with right dimensions
