  1. Hello Luis Welcome to the Fourm, Looks like you have lots to do! Can you get all the parts you need for your Jeep in Argentina ? Why are you finishing it as Airbourne? When do you think it will be finished ? Best wishes Julian.
  2. Hello Mike Thanks for that, Yes, you are quite right, it was dark and the plate is uncleaned, I could quite easily mistaken the 058 as CS8 I will check the rest of the numbers. Cheers Jules
  3. Me too ! With the click of a button! Jules
  4. Robert, Do you think you could send me a copy of this photo, I can not open the link. Jules
  5. Does anyone know if the RAF hold thier own records of WW2 Vehicles ? I have found the Chassis number on my Ford WOT2h, but the Army have no record of it, I am sure it was used by the RAF, but would they have any records? Anyone gone down this road yet? Cheers Jules
  6. Can anyone tell me anything about my CS8 from this Chassis number ? 180205815163 ? Cheers Jules
  7. Here is a photo of mine before I took it apart, still in the garden in Walthamstow, North London. When I cleared it out, under an old wooden bench was two rusty steel helmets, one having a AFS badge on the front and the original owners name. Jules
  8. Hi Lee I got hold of one last year from a garden in Walthamstow, not sure what to do with it, I would like to install it in my garden as originally done, but it seems a shame that it might deteriate back outside. Have you assembled yours yet? any photos ? Good luck # Jules
  9. Here is an original Photo I found, which I have based mine on.
  10. KPU, Thats a nice Track too, I like the Loaded look, they certainly look better kitted out! How did you brake your front half shaft ? I 'abused' mine the other weekend, hit a ditch hard to try the roller, it worked fine, and I still have all my front teeth! Cheers Jules
  11. Mike, it would be nice to see a photo of that CS8 in the Museum, if it is original ? Cheers Jules
  12. Tim, you must fill me in at the meeting.
  13. Do we Tim? I started her up on New years day, damm cold it was too! not used her since last October, but she fired on the first turn of the engine with out a hitch! She is due for a service with the grease gun very soon. Jules
  14. Rick, can't you remember it in the barn when you got yours? It was only really a rolling chassis, engine and front end, no cab or rear body. I have made a new cab from scratch like you, and i intend to build a wooden GS back body for it. will post some more pics later. I am having to re register her, she is registered as Q189 RDS and on the V5 listed as a 'REcovery Truck' date of manufacture unknown, I now have notification from the Army records stating that chassis number 2610 was built in November 1944. Cheers Jules
  15. Here's a couple of photo's of my 1941 White M3 taken at War & Peace last year.
  16. Sorry, before any of you keen types point out that it is a CDSW not a CDFW, you are right, a slip of the finger! Here is another picture taken yesterday.
  17. Just to add to our show case of Moggies, here is some photos of my latest restoration project, it's taken a while, but most is now ready to assemble, and am planning to get it finished for June/July first photo showes me towing the finished Chassis from my Barn to home where I can work on it, Towed behind our Morris CDFW which make light work of the 3 miles through our village. the others are of the installation of the Rad and cooling system, Bulk head etc. Fuel tanks all plumbed in, engine restored. Next step will be engine runs, then the cab and brake systems.
  18. Yes, ackack, your right, no need for a spare. And Yes, if anyone has any inturnal photos of either WW2 wireless or Light Warning trucks, please lets see them. Does anyone know of anyone with a restored Light Warning Truck in the UK ? Jules.
  19. Yes those pictures show the wireless body on a Morris Commerial C4. you can tell by the louvre slats in the side for the generator. I have wondered where i could carry a spare wheel on mine, there is no room between the cab and back, and there is no way anyone could lift a 900 x 16 runflat up on the roof!! more food for thought. Jules
  20. Yes, up here in the dreaming spires................................. Jules
  21. Sorry Les, yes your in Kent, not so far from Oxford. Thanks for the photo. Runflat, that structure on my roof is just lodged up there, it is an empty cable laying reel, quite hard to find these days, but again not sure I really need it? REME 245, Yes the vehicle at Shuttleworth has a hard cab roof, but nothing in the back, I have some photos of it, sadly it is not much help. I wondered after looking at Ted's photos if the main upright of the aerial needs to go through the roof to support it? otherwise it is a large structure, I also understand that it is turned from inside? In my roof there is a hole where someone has fitted a fan, but it would be in the right place for the structure to pass through? I wonder where I might get any drawings with dimensions of the Aerial. Jules
  22. Thanks Ted, that a great picture and info, It looks like I will be constructing one of those Aerial's Do you think you could get a better copy of the WOT photo? Thats a real help, I still think I am right looking at all these original photos about the paint scheme. So, I am very pleased to see that they were in RAF use. Anyone have any more info, What are those 'tapes' hanging from the aerial ? It will make an interesting display! Thanks chaps, keep the info comming, there really is not enough published info on this subject. Ted, when is your road run? Cheers Jules
  23. Thanks Simon, I have IWM 2385 & 1973, one is the pic at the start of this thread, the other is from the back, what does 2208 show? Cheers Jules
  24. Thank you both for your very constructive comments................I'm learning a lot here. Ted, I picked up on your listing of :- 'IFF Mk3........Seperate T & R using the A scope'. I thought the 'T & R' was Transmitter & Reciever ? I am still wondering just what was carried in the back body, there is a small two door cupboard at the cab end, with what looks like remains of supports for desk tops either side of it. the windows in the sides and rear door have a blackout screen and a mesh screen. You talk of an 'A Scope' what was this ? I would dearly like to restore my truck to what it was originally for, the Guy I bought it from thought it was a wireless Truck and collected wireless kit for it including a 19 Set, a 22 set, ground ariels and a whole load of other wireless ancillarys,.........................It would seam that I do not need any of this then? I was not sure about the colour scheme, on first impression I thought, 'Thats not Mickey Mouse style' and the base colour of Olive Drab with Black................I stand corrected then that this would be right for a May 1943 vehicle? Thanks very much for your help chaps.................keep your ideas coming. Cheers Jules
  25. Here's mine! It is going to get resprayed the right colours in the Spring! Jules
