  1. I have a Pathfinder US small wall officers tent I will sell. It's all complete in correct bag with bag of pegs etc and a groundsheet but is heavy and would need to be collected.
  2. Hi Olaf, yes, we used to have a member list and it was on recently as I looked at it but it has disappeared now. I think you need to have a word with Joris. ps I wonder if it has anything to do with the new privacy laws which came into force recently.
  3. Yes but it screwed in unlike the Brit type which as you know clamps on.
  4. Screw top on right is an American fuel can, clamp top is Brit type fuel can.
  5. As the Hotchkiss was specifically designed for radio suppressors were fitted in all the circuits. If any in the charging circuit go faulty this can cause the fault you describe. The easiest solution is to cut the appropriate wires.
  6. This years National Armed forces Day is scheduled for 30th June almost in my backyard in Llandudno and had been asked by the local Blind Veterans UK ( St Dunstans ) home which I support to take my jeep to transport vets and also for it to be on their fundraising pitch. However the MOD in their wisdom will not allow this to happen for security reasons. Go figure!
  7. Hi Tim, are you planning on starting the restoration of the Peerless in the near future?
  8. Back in the day it was used almost universally on trucks and buses. I must have trodden on the stuff literally millions of times but never gave a thought to what it was called.
  9. Looks like a Dorset Horn to me and if it is a farmyard whats a telephone box doing there?
  10. Here you go www.facebook.com/events/1274429109370234 or just enter Vale Vintage Machinery Club into your browser
  11. All are cordially invited to attend this show at a new venue just 1 mile off the A55 at Caerwys North Wales. This show used to be Held at Bodelwyddan Castle with a large military attendance but had sadly declined of recent times. The show is now being revived by a new committee at the farm where the North Wales Military Vehicle show used to be held, more details on the clubs facebook page or phone the chairman (Maredudd Davies) 07921719084
  12. Welcome to the forum, if you join the Military Vehicle Trust they will be able to assist you.
  13. My reference books confirm it to be a BY3
  14. Yes, it was based on the Morris Commercial LC. The LC model started in the 1930's and as far as I remember the LC3 would have been the civi model when the MRA1 was first produced.
  15. It has always been the case that a Historic MV can't carry a load or tow a loaded trailer, having said that I can't remember anybody being prosecuted for the offence but of course I stand to be corrected. I think committing this offence would also invalidate insurance.
  16. A very Merry Christmas to you and your family, well deserved after all your hard work on the forum. Also All Best Wishes to all forum Admin and members.
  17. Net is olive drab approximately 9ft square but has originally been larger, mesh is 3/8" made from 1/8"" diameter material. Two of the sides have double sided webbing approximately 1.5" wide, 1"diameter eyelets and 1/2" diameter rings at one side of each eyelet. There are also a no of ties attached a couple of which are on the body of the net and attached with substantial webbing patches, the two uncut sides have short net skirts. One side has been cut left as is but the other side has narrow webbing and has had more net attached at some time. I don't know if this is British or US and only have a suspicion about it's use so any help would be much appreciated.
  18. Sorry, can't help you with anything you've listed but I do have a complete sprung rear tow hitch if it's of any use to you. It was removed from a Pinzgauer when fitting rear steps to convert the vehicle for shoot transport.
  19. In Britain the date has always been written as DD/MM/YYYY and as this is a British based forum I have to agree with Clive that this is how dates should be shown.Perhaps you could organise this please Joris when you have time. Thanks in anticipation.

    New Format

As Jack says the forum has gone through a number of changes over the years and the initial reaction of most people has been against the change but after a while you forget what the old system was like. There are bound to be hiccups at first but to be fair to Joris he has listened to members comments and reacted where necessary and this at what must have been a very stressful time for him. Thanks Joris. If an old computer illiterate fuddy duddy like me can adapt to the changes I'm sure anyone can.
