Someone took delivery of a NATO green Snowcat yeterday.it was heading south on the 74 just north on the Scottish side of the border.

It looked really good on the back of the truck.

Have I posted this in the wrong place?

At one time my kids and grandkids would get me a model jeep for my birthday but I always wanted one with a canvas top on.I eventually came across a French made jeep.

It was pleasantly surprised that it was an M201 version even with electric wipers ( I hard a real 201 at the time).

It was a plastic canvas top but it look real good and it fitted my Japanese model perfectly.

never found another and the shop closed down.

M201 wipers, motor and wiper arms £40.

Boxed speedo (kilometres) never used, £30.

Two empty extinguishers off a Ferret, good for display, £20.

Hi Richard. I wonder if the one I saw came back home. The red one I mentioned, I actually saw it in Sunderland parked up. 

The owner was a serving Soldier who 'managed' to get it 'medivaced' to Brize when it was Cast with a load of cast spares. Can't confirm that.

Can anyone remember the Gloster Saro conversion Lightweights in the Falklands and what happened to them?

i saw one driving away from Mount Pleasant airfield (it might have been called Falkland Islands Stategic Airfield then) in the early 1980's.

The nearside front wing was half hanging off and the noise from it was terrible when it drove over a bump.

I only seen it once and I thought it was a local modification as it was scruffy and looked as rough as a Badgers arse.

There was also a red Lightweight in Stanley that was eventually owned by a REME lad that ended up in Sunderland.

Any word on that?

I don't know new owners name yet.

It hadn't been advertised anywhere else but a couple of others that knew may have spread the news.

The early RL, the series 2  radio LR and even the Russian missile truck are still there but I don't know if they are for sale.

The Routemaster has gone some time ago.

I've just heRd a rumour that the Ferret has a new owner.

Anyone want to own up?

I remember someone replying to the first time I reported this Ferret that it had been totally restored in GREEN before being sold to the present owner 

I don't know if this link will work but this Ferret needs a new home.

A few years ago I reported a yellow Ferret in Gateshead owned by Lings Cars in Gateshead.

I've been informed that it is now for sale as a non runner with accessories missing.

I am selling my SLR bayonet.

When bought it was in unused condition and that hasn't changed.

The handle and Scabbard had some minor scratches and chips on them so Steve Carr kindly sandblasted them for me.

I then had them professionally powder coated.

My intention was to collect all marks of SLR bayonets but I never got around to it.

This is good enough for display or for use.

It has been fairly valued it at £100 plus postage that I think is a fair price.

I also have a KM speedo  for a jeep, two British army ferret extinguishers and M201 electric wipers and motor.

Anyone here own this Lightweight?

Spotted in a field near Washington, Tyne &Wear.

I won't say where for respect for the owner if it has one but someone has put a cover over it suggesting ownership.

The full title is Rolls Royce Operators hand book and covers Merlin engines &power plants MK. Nos. 22, 24 and T24 .

The hand book was first published in 1944 as some pages show but this actual copy was printed in 1945 with additional amendments for the British Overseas Aircraft Corporation.

The stamps in the hand book show that it was part of the BOAC technical library before being discarded.

The book is complete with colour and black & white photos and diagrams 

No loose pages but a few pages have tatty edges, but only on the edges.

I know of six other copies of this 1945 edition and three are in museums, one supposed to be with the BBMF, one with IWM and another with a private collector in Canada.

There may be more but my internet searches haven't found them yet.

The Canadian collector told me the book was worth about £500.

When I took it to the Antiques Roadshow,  three 'experts' confirmed the valuation.

Incase you're wondering, the book or me or both wasn't interesting enough to be on show.

This book sat in a cupboard for god knows how many years before I saved it from the father in laws skip.

I will upload some photos tomorrow.

Yes I know you can get later copies of the book or even download a version but you can't beat the real thing !

i will advertise this elsewhere but I would prefer it went to an enthusiast and not just a rare book collector.

Ive since been told that the book is realistically worth  £200-£250

Hi. Just to give you Aviators a heads up.

I am just about to advertise my original copy of the Operators handbook for Rolls Royce Merlin engines & power plants, Mark numbers 22,24,T24 for transport aircraft.

This is the 1944 edition, revised in 1945 for  BOAC civilian aircraft using Merlin engines.

The book is stamped British Overseas Airways, Technical department.

Very few of this rare 1945 edition left.

I took this book to the Antiques Roadshow last year and three 'experts' valued it at around £500.

am selling my surplus genuine British Army kit which includes:- Rucksack, waterproof jacket and trousers, NBC (noddy suit), Respirator c/w inner and out gloves, fullers earth bottle, detector paper and correct new pouch. Also webbing set with ammo pouches, SA80 adjusting tool and a MK6 helmet. All genuine ex British Army. Ideal for reenactors or campers etc.

From surplus stores this lot could cost you at least 3 times my price.

1970 military jeep for sale.

It has a full MOT and NO advisories.

Free historic tax,

The side curtains were replaced with a John and Mary W set and the old set are included with the spares coming with the jeep.

The jeep also has the sought after vented windscreen, basically, an inner opening windscreen like the original MB/GPW jeeps.

The jeep had an agreed insurance value last year of £8500 and lots has been done since then.

I have reduced the price for a quick sale.

A fair price for this jeep is £7500 but I am Open to reasonable offers.

I would consider swapping for a Vauxhall Viraro Combi van or the Renault/Nissan versions.

Just thought of something.

Early set ups used the glass lenses that screwed into the body part (sorry, forgot what it's called).

I'm not sure which way the later lenses fitted.
