  1. Thanks for replying. Yes that's how it was when I removed it but it was working ok?. I will try and straighten it out.
  2. Good morning. The choke link on the Carter carburettor is kinked is this normal?. please see photo thanks for any advice.
  3. Hi all. I have managed to get the pump working and fuel up to the carburettor, on starting the jeep it was /running really rough therefore I suspected dodgy ht leads, I changed the them for new ones and reset the points but it made no difference. I then noticed a tiny leak on the carb - see photo.....couldthis be the cause of the engine ruining rough?.
  4. Thank you both for your advice, I have put new seals on the fuel filter and pump but may inadvertently put e10 fuel in to the tank!, will syphon the fuel from the tank and make sure e5 goes in and will test the pump on the recommendation and hopefully it will start, will update. best regards.
  5. Help please After putting the fuel tank back on the jeep and checked all connections the fuel isn't coming through, I have tried putting a drop of fuel into the carb but to no avail. thanks in advance
  6. Ive managed to shift it- cut a piece of galvanized tube and used it as an extension and to my surprise and relief it worked!!!!. thanks to you all for your suggestions which i will no doubt use in some capacity in the future. Steve

  8. Thanks I will give that a go (how long should I apply the the heat?), also if all else fails would it be recommended to maybe grind the sides of the nut with a dremel disc and source a new nut?.

Looking on YouTube and seeing other companion flange nuts removed/fitted they are not left hand thread?, as the transfer case is still on the jeep it would be difficult to get the breaker bar onto the nut?, I'm loath to remove the transmission to take it to the garage I may have to source a stronger impact wrench and hope that shifts it!?. Thanks guys for you suggestions. Steve.
  11. Hi Gents I am trying to remove the companion flange nut from the universal front end yoke and it won't budge. I have hired and used an impact gun but it still won't move, any suggestions please. Steve
  12. Help please Gentleman Should grease be applied to the seal or transfer case prior to install, if so can you recommend what type of grease should I use?. thanks in advance Steev

  14. Have pulled the transfer lever back and now its moving!. Many thanks for your help as you can see I'm not the shapest knife in the draw.
  15. To be honest I haven't tried the transfer box I just concentrated on the gear box?.
  16. Gears aren't stuck they go in and out ok?, when I engage first gear and lift off the clutch pedal nothing happens?.
  17. Good morning I re-fitted the gearbox and transfer case back on to the jeep and after starting and engaging first gear the jeep doesn't move?. (I didn't dismantle either boxes and fitted back as is?). any suggestions please. KR Steev

    Help again please!. I am trying to remove the fuel tank from my Hotchkiss m201, unfortunately the nut on fuel pipe from the tank will not budge!!, I have tried molegrips etc, any suggestions are very welcome. Best regards, Steve.
