  1. Ok, for my insurance I need a written valuation done of the Pinkie. So, where do I get this done? I am a member of MVT, and I seem to recall they offer a service like this, if so who do I contact? Anyone else I can get one done at, and if so how many beer tokens are they gonna want for the pleasure? and how do you value a Pinkie anyway, if it got nicked tomorrow, I cant replace it, so what do they go on? Cheers
  2. mmmm, I would love a Bedford TM one day, but having the newer liscence, I think I would have to do an HGV test, is that the case?
  3. I thouroughly enjoyed it, and many thanks to all you guys that put in the effort to organise and Marshal it, as without you we would have no where to go play and relax!!! O and I was there both days, its just I was in the Bunker when you did your vehicle parade today as I wasnt going to go all that way and not have a look..... (I have only one neg comment that I will share with you by pm as a thought for next year, tho I am sure you are already aware!!).......
  4. If you have the de-act in a fixed mount on the ferret than technically you can leave it in place with a cover on, but if it isnt too hard to remove and you have the space to store it inside then you will be safer doing this.....
  5. Golden rule, treat a replica as a real weapon..... All weapons that are fixed may be left in place on the public highway, but must be covered from public view ( a gun clip does not constitute a fixed weapon). All others must be removed from veiw totally. You also must have a valid reason for transporting you weapon...... you must not have it displayed in public without a valid reason..... Get the pattern I have been over this time and again with coppers as owning a pinkie, it is best to be aware of your facts before the local bobby takes an interest..... I tend to remove all mags and store them seperatly as if you are stopped and a copper thinks the weapon is loaded then they have to request a gun squad member, whereas if you can proove beyond doubt that the mags are no where near the weapons then the bobby that stopped you can deal with the incident them selves. alot quicker and generally a lot friendlier!!!
  6. although the stringent post 95' regs do not apply to "support weapons" hence brens and LSW's being still able to be dry fired!!!
  7. by the point my Pinkie was in service I thought the M16 was the order of the day...... with the minimi as a support weapon..... It entered service in 1985!! I would havwe thought it would have looked right on a series 11a Pinkie tho!! Do let me know if I am wrong tho???
  8. Not all Classic MV's are MOT exempt.... it is all to do with weight and Tax class...... Landies and Jeeps and other sized vehicles are still registered as PLG, so are still goverened by the Law applied to such things, so may be Tax exempt if manafactured before 1973, tho always have to have an MOT (tho less stringent the older the vehicle is)....... Big stuff and Armour (and an ambulance if registered as such) is governed by a different set of Rules as they are not taxed as PLG......
  9. I was planning (and still hoping) to get there Fri Evening...... but as usual work has put pay to my plans by demanding that I be there on Fri...... so If I can book a carpark space at work I shall come straight from work on the Fri, if not I will tip up on Sat. Arriving late wont be a problem in a pinkie!!! ;-) Snapper: - Bergan and contents are already on board mate!! Looking forward to this already...... see you on Sat!! :-D
  10. Well I went, I saw and I got Drenched on more than several occassions, but it was a good time none the less...... . Shame you missed out Mike..... I had a wet chair and soaked beer (that was watered down unintentially) with your name on it!!!! Maybe next show!!!

  13. Well be on the road Sat PM, from stains area, with 4 Pinkies ..... We be men, so water wont put us off!!!!! ;-)
  14. Cheers Chris, yes it is accident damaged..... It is possible to put back on the road tho, will it need to go through an SVA test, as if it will I know from past experience that a wolf will not pass.
  15. I am looking at purchasing a land rover wolf that is not road registered. What documents do I need to ensure I get with it and how do I go about road registering it. It is simple or is it going to cause me any headaches. At what point do I do the MOT? Cheers
  16. Only if it is on its last legs. ;-) If it is a goodun with only supperficial tidying needed then any thing from £2500 to £3500. If it was perfect reckon on about £4500.... As it is a hardtop and has a snorkel, if the snorkel is original fitment then it could well be a wader...... not worth much more but of more interest amongst the ex mil alndy fraternity....... If it is one you are looking to buy, I can do you an H plate 110 ffr ex marines wader with full radio equipment and a 200tdi engine and Disco transfer box that is in absolute tip top condition for £4500.......
