To all the A&E'ers - all those that have their A&E wristband on will have free access to the Tank Museum on Saturday & a hog roast on Saturday evening back at Broadmayne. We will have our sponsors with us -Wargaming.net and their military expert & former tanker Richard Cutland. Once we have crossed the ford & get to the end of this track (pictured) we will be going right stick and right stick again passed Lawrence of Arabia cottage. If I have done my job right - we won't need to right stick into the holding area to allow us to bunch up before we travel the shot distance down to the Tank Museum. Then we will left stick into the arena.........

Sadly not Cubed :-( the laws have changed soooooooooooo much now - it easier to fly a light aircraft and film from that.

Sunday 19th June - Convoy 2 (Convoy 1 - up to 10 vehicles will be going the Weymouth Veterans Parade) the rest of us will be going to Portland. Sunday 19th June. We have a fantastic convoy/drive out on the Sunday. We will follow the exact route the vehicles used to embark at Portland. Thanks to my graphic designs skills you can see a yellow arrow. This basecamp - Broadmayne. The red arrow is where convoy 2 will be driving to Castletown D-Day Centre. Castletown is the exact place of embarkation for Bloody Omaha and Point du Hoc. This is something very special and historic and we get the chance, just for a small while, to recreate an amazing scene with all our WWII vehicles in the very place they left from. Castletown is a strange and eerie place as it seems to be just a row of old pubs and taverns from days gone by. You will also see the two Mulberry Phoenix Caisson that are in the harbour...

So, as a round up and update this is what Saturday looks like - we have a lot of driving Saturday 18th June 2016 10 am. Leave basecamp in full convoy and travel to the Tank Museum (12 miles) via the ford, the bikes will go over the bridge, for 13:00 for the awaiting members of the public. The convoy will do a circuit of the show ring and commentary will be given by the Tank Museum. The whole tank and vehicle convoy will then park up so that members of the public can come and see the vehicles and talk with the crews. The Museum will be providing catering trailers/vans so that the crews can buy their lunch and coffee – refreshments. You will also have access to the museum so that they can have a look around. 15:00. We will then leave in full convoy and travel to the county town of Dorchester (12 miles) and plan to get there at 16:30 and to park up in Weymouth Avenue (next to Brewery Square) for the public to come and see the vehicles. 17:15. To lead the Dorchester Carnival procession in a full circuit of the town, the streets will be lined with people. 18:30. Once we have done the circuit we will say goodbye to the town and head back to basecamp (5 miles). That is the day’s convoys over. 20:00. The villagers are holding a 40’s dance in the village hall. Those that want to, can attend. Saturday evening we have two hog roasts laid on for you - you will be given wrist bands on your arrival on Friday and this will get you your plate full of hog roast!

The reason the posts were pulled is because we do not allow politics or religion on the forum - for the simply reason (as what happened here) everyone gets very hot headed and they allow their stress to over flow onto the forum - where it isn't welcomed. Evening! We started taking entries today. We have spoken to most over the months and as we are limiting numbers this time -we are primarily taking armour bookings first. Totally agree. Has to be a tough job when members 'advise' on the content of the magazine but are unwilling to submit anything. That said, not everyone wants to write or has the confidence to write. However, we all like articles on restorations no matter what they are of - because we connect with the pain of the people undertaking the restoration. It's like collective pain.. CMV - sadly, commerce rules. They have to have adverts to make money. It lost its way after Pat Ware left. Now that it is owned by Key Publishing - they have turned up the commercial element of it, and that shows. Price guide, cool to have at the time but now completely outdated and totally irrelevant. Classifieds are the same - that's now all online. They should use that space for something more creative. They should be using Facebook as a driving force but still ignore its power - that's a big mistake. Print media is having big problems and haven't seen ANY traditional publishing house step up to the plate. Still have their heads in sand. I can't see any MV hobby mag making it long term.
