That's great news JC and great news for the hobby
-
I say if you don't like it then no one has to watch it. However, if it keeps brings our hobby and history to a new audience then happy days.

A very good chum of mine who has been going forever gave me his feedback:
Dull. Not enough happening. Poor organisation. Diluted show. But the hardcore were happy enough. It's their holiday.
- he does like his full stops

The photo in the article does show the tractor passing an apparently empty lay by…...
I pull over with a slow vehicle at every opportunity, especially when you don't know when you can next pull over.
Two problems which often arise:
1) when some idiot won't overtake when it is perfectly safe to do so, thereby causing unnecessary chaos.
2) when an idiot driving slightly faster than you appears behind with 100 cars in tow - he gets past and leaves you with an instant line of cars behind you, who is then seen as the culprit. Often a police car appears at that very moment…….
Think it is a stock image NOS as he is pulling a bale wrapper - think he was pulling a trailer full of beet :-)

Good to see you Olaf - veteran now of A&E!
You did a fantastic job at the school Sir - they all loved you and the kiddies learnt so much from you

Was the campsite really that sloped or has Rosie been at the wine?
Rosie was on the wine Adrian - there was nothing we could do :-(

The whole event went like clock work. Crossing the ford was fantastic and we had a great time at the Tank Museum. Arriving at Dorchester was impressive and to see thousands of people pouring out of bars and shops to talk to everyone, just made my day. Jim and Adrian had worked so hard on this event - and it showed.

Must have been a big disappointment to the organisers and sponsors to only have 3 gun tanks after the pre-event publicity promised 10. I'm well aware of maintenance issues etc but seems very unfair of so many owners to let Jack and co down.
No one let us down - far from it. Sadly we had a death, health issues, maintenance issues and two being sold. Those owners that could make it still came with other vehicles, god bless them :-)

Hard to put this one into words:blush:

All looking good!
TooTallMike is happy - he will have his under the bonnet of the Ward la France, thinks it has blown a head gasket!

Safe travels John and see you soon!

It looks like Cowleaze Road is a bit on the narrow side via google maps on street view or is an optical illusion ? there are various cars parked on one side miaking it look quite a squeeze.
More than enough room there Rich, all the cars will have moved. This is the route the artics are using.
- want Rosie to drive

hope everyone has a fantastic weekend shame wont be there this time
Dave you were coming as a guest this time??!!!!

Morning all,
Just a quick note to let you know that we have space free for MV's if you would like to come to A&E. Short notice I know, but there is a war on don't you know.
Cheers,
Jack.

Hi
I was wondering whether it would be possible to take some photos of the vehicles at the base camp in Broadmayne on the Friday? I am currently putting together a new series of books on military vehicles (I have had several titles published already). I have found from experience that it is much easier to get decent photos of the vehicles at this sort of event when the general public are not around.
Hi there - the best bet is to have a look here and pick the Tank Museum or when we get to Dorchester for the Carnival. Friday and for the rest of the weekend, basecamp will be busy. Have a look here for times

Morning Richard and thank you but we are OK for Jeeps at the moment, we reduced the total number of vehicles this time but if we have one drop out then I will be straight back to you

All of the above. And actually, the most important thing that us HMVF'ers should appreciate that we have the new editor as a member of HMVF , and is WILLING to come here and listen too feedback.......wish all editors were like that. We as a hobby should be over the moon with this.
The lack of engagement from magazine editors with 'their' readers may explain why some magazines have their backs to the wall.
There is a goldmine of knowledge amongst our membership - enough to keep a magazine full of top class content. We should do all we can to support the new editor.
- that said, if John is on his laptop in the bar of the HMVF Clubhouse, then best not disturb him..........:computerrage:
