  2. Thanks Paul, it just in my 'real' life I run and own a business with my fellow director. We deal with many wings of the MOD, we have a line of Tatical torches and have been asked for a mount for SA80's........
  3. Have you used Surefire before?
  4. could/would you mount on the barrel?
  5. Hi Paul. Can you mount a flashlight to an SA80?
  6. As the title says....What's your claim to fame? What have you done that is pretty unique?... Who have you met, who have you sat next to? Have you been on TV, in a film, been an extra. Have you helped someone famous get out of trouble  Have you worked for anybody famous? Have you sold anything to anybody of interest? Go on...here is your chance to names drop like hell!
  7. Dam good question and one that I have quite often thought about myself. I was reading an article in one of the MV mags last month how people are pulling of tanks ( what is left of them) of the ranges and rebuilding them. When you look at our MV's, how much of them is original? I wouldn't believe for one moment that my truck is the same truck that went into service but I believe that it isn't that far off but how would I know. Does it matter if it is a total rebuild from new/engineered pieces? To me, yes it does but the most important thing to me is that these total rebuilds are doing the job off keeping history alive for future generations......that can't be bad, can it?
  8. Berni that is a cracking idea about the rollers as I am going to hand paint it!
  9. on the inside of my cab, under layers of paint that is peeling off the green is a real deep 'bronze green' and it is very high gloss.......a bit like Bernis truck, what date would this be from and why such a high gloss?
  10. Welcome Graham. Seriously mate, that is just showing off!! The first picture looks like a Steam fair picture. We live not far from Tarrant Hinton..........Blandford and the surrounding areas are a no go area for the week.
  11. First of all, welcome Paul and nice to see that you have got stuck in!! Secondly...........where on earth do you keep all of that kit

Hi Tony. Good to see you here and try this link, it should help you  http://www.hmvf.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=98
  15. I took the horn button to pieces and looked under the ring that holds the horn in place ( it has two screws) and it a dark green gloss. Karoshi, what was yours......?
  16. I do like to cause trouble  so here is the question that everyone loves to hate  I am going paint the GMC and I am going to start to rub it down this week. So........here it is; WHAT SHADE OF GREEN DO I USE TO PAINT IT!!!   Let the debate begin but be quick as I want to get on with it  Cheers Jack.
  17. Welcome Tony. Thank you for the intro, looks like you have been busy over the years............have you any pictures?
  18. yeah I think you are right gents, put it this way, the road run that we went on during the weekend involved climbing up one of the steepest hills in the Purbecks, it pulled up there a treat and we went down the other side on the brakes and with the truck full of Germans........no problems. I did try and tell them that I was having problems with the brakes but I think they thought that I was joking
  19. Solves that problem then as I was just thinking about what the shipping cost would be to Dorset
  20. Can we have a whip around please..................... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Fcgiurl%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fcgi.ebay.com%252Fws%252F%26fkr%3D1%26from%3DR8%26satitle%3D4572883980%2B%26fvi%3D1&item=4572883980
  21. Hi Tim. Nice jeep........looks like that has been off road
  22. Welcome Kewelde. Thanks for the intro and I think you have hit the nail on the head with regards to US vehicles and there is no intention for HMVF to become another 'US MV' site. It just looks like us US MV owners just like to yack! This site is for all MV owners, no matter what age or where they come from, the more we all talk, then there is more of a chance of keeping history rolling. Now lets get some British and Commonwealth and other MV owners on here, discussing all the fun and the despair of owning theirs  ....... Cheers Jack.
  23. Just come back from Bovington weekend. As some of you know, this was our first outing with the GMC, in fact this was our first show  wasn't too sure what to expect  Must say that it was better than I could imagine, I was slighty nervous as my GMC isn't in the 'same' condition as everyone elses   as it happened no one laughed but it didn't take John and Ron to lift up the bonnet and stick their heads under it..............I am sure they are builders by the amount of 'oh', 'blimey', 'that is going to cost some', 'never seen that before'....and it wasn't long before the socket sets and spanners were put into action. I swear the thing was running better before they got to it  I would imagine that this is all part of my initiation into the group. But on a serious note it looks like I do have some work to do on the engine It was a cracking weekend and it was made even better by meeting one of HMVF's members, Karoshi. Great pleasure to of met you Colin and you are dam good company, we must do that more often! Colin drove 70 miles in his 352 and you will be able to see by the pictures that his truck, is simply, stunning. It was also great to of met Alan and Val, thank you for the chat guys and it was good to have you on the 'German express' Finally, the weekend was attended by the German Pioneer Battalion 146 from Portsmouth. Now, these guys were wonderful, these guys were also slighty barking. Colin and I loaded the trucks with the Germans when all of us went on the road run around the Purbecks, now that was something pretty special and raised many a smile and turned many heads as 12 vehicles drove around the Purbecks, full of Germans   we had some great looks from people in the pub and it wasn't long before everyone was out in the carpark looking over the MV's....... I will let the pictures of the Germans speak for themselves, thanks guys, you are a great bunch and Colin, great pleasure to of met you and thank you for that beer!!
  24. See you there Karoshi......I am leaving now!
  25. Something I have heard today......... There maybe a way around this, I have ben told that if you become a member of the actors union equity. So I am told, if you are a member then you can legally hold a weapon as it becomes a 'prop', how true this is I don't know but will keep you posted............. Cheers Jack.
