  1. I'm after one of these dash/ignition lights for my 1944 Standard Tilly, does anyone have one for sale or know the Lucas part number so that I can look for one. cheers.
  2. Found this spray gun on Ebay & 2 adverts on the internet dated 1939 & 1940 showing that these would be correct for the compressor. https://www.aviationancestry.co.uk/?searchQuery=Colour+Sprays&startYear=1930&endYear=1945
  3. What a shame, tragic for us & the public but even more so for the organisers.
  4. Just 'nicked' this photo off the Jerry Can Facebook page, I have 10+ WATER Jerry cans to paint like this to go with the Bowser.
  5. I think the 2nd engine I fitted is 5 bearing ? I will have a look.
  6. Another lucky find on Ebay, won it for £150 & picked it up last week. Its the correct Air Ministry AM PU8 complete with all its data plates & the splined output shaft for the clutch/pulley's. The other 5 PU8 engines I have found all had the incorrect keyway output shaft.
  7. Hi Chris thanks, I normally tow my 1942 20cwt generator trailer behind it but soon it might be this bowser.
  8. A quick look on the internet & I found this one to start with.
  9. Hi Alan. It was you that posted the photos of the straps as I have just found the post on the internet. 'Quote' 'This is a particularly obscure piece of militaria and took some detective work to identify, however it is these little puzzles and the learning of new things that I love so much about collecting! My thanks got to Alan Tanknut for his research and for supplying the diagram above' Now I need to find a pair of 1 1/2" X 32" leather belts with similar buckles.
  10. Hi Guy. The photos are not opening up correctly, can you email them to me please.
  11. Hi Alan great I think that's good enough to make the brackets, what happened to the photos of the leather strap that you posted ? I could do with several photos showing the buckle & end in detail please along with the measurements. Cheers Ian
  12. Has anybody got a better photo showing the 2 brackets that hold the hose to the float ? or can someone blow this up a bit ? cheers
  13. Been down the local wood recycling yard today & picked up this damaged 7"x7" gate post for £6.25 which I'm going to use to make the wooden floats which are approximately 7" X 6 1/6" x 5 3/4" once cut I will clamp the 2 bits together & drill a hole through the join which will give me the channel for the hose.
  14. Just managed find a large quantity (30 Metres) plus off cuts of this N.O.S hydraulic hose that looks just the part with the writing sanded off.
  15. Cheers guys, it had a solid copper one on previously. Which type is best ?
  16. Ok with the engine done (photos to follow ASAP) I decided to tidy up the front end bodywork. The front axle & brakes have been overhauled before paint stripping & repainting, the grill & bonnet panels have had shot blasted & then I welded up all the rotten edges & straighten before painting. (sorry about the poor photos but she's in a dark barn) I've removed the front right side wing as its a bit bashed up. UPDATES TO FOLLOW SOON.
  17. Is there a correct way up ? my guess is copper up as the head gets hotter that the barrel ?
  18. Hi Simon I think most of us had guessed that mate.
  19. I think he intends to tow It behind his 1938 CMP ? as a matched pair.
  20. That trailer looks postwar ? very 50s look to those wheels & hitch.
  21. Jolien My mistake I put B / 11 which doesn't exist, it should of read B / 91 which I have now eddied my post. tell me what you want & I'll look it up F for fighter groups & B for Bomber, you could go for some thing sexier than a training group.
  22. RAF group F/11 was a non flying station. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No._11_Group_RAF I have my RAF vehicles as B/91 which was Bomber command training, mainly Vickers Wellingtons. I'm not sure about the large roundel ?
  23. That's a shame, I'm sure they must of overlooked you as yours is the rarest exibit there. Or were you not intending to go anyway this year ?
