  1. I like this sort of research! Will see what I can find out.:-)
  2. That looks great! Where did you find it? i still have some steering box parts and linkages knocking around in the garage if they are of any use.
  3. I hope Brad isn't trying to find a parking space in Wallingford, I was there on Monday and I can honestly say I have never known a place like it for trying to park!
  4. Yep, I'm Movembering too!
  5. Maybe of interest to some, lots of militaria and de-acs. http://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/j-p-humbert-auctioneers-ltd/catalogue-id-2889116?page=1
  6. It was good to see you there. I have a few pics but the camera died halfway through saturday. The weather was good again and there was a good turnout of re-enactors and different vehicles on both days. Gas 44's Dodge , Chas Jellis and his GMC complete with aero engine on the rig and a UXB which he found at a local car boot! John Marchant graced us with his presence and his CMP in your pictures. Its always good to speak with John, he just happened to mention in passing that as well as clearing out Pounds yard, he had the job of clearing out all the local airfields and POW camps. He has all the paperwork for the POWs from the local camps, records, medical files etc, which he said they just left there when the camps were emptied. I will be speaking to him soon hopefully to get them relocated from his house to the museum. The weekend was rounded off with a circular flypast from the Lanc from BBMF on the Sunday. All in all a good weekend. Next years plans are to try and organise a bit of an autojumble/swapmeet, an evening social tent for those staying on site and a flying display with something a bit unusual....
  7. Manuals are OK,cab parts are non existant. I have a steering box shell for one and a gearknob still kicking around if needed.

  9. Brilliant, great you have the history and artefacts.
  10. The gearbox is extremely simple to rebuild, there is an idiot guide on the g503 forum, complete with photos and step by step guide, I've got to do mine over the next few weeks.
  11. Maybe a daft question. After running up the jeep for 5 minutes standing in the garage I get a continuous trail of smoke coming out of the oil filler tube. Piston rings gone?
  12. Thanks Lee, do you have to sign in to tapatalk?
  13. Do you still need to go via photobucket when posting pics up for post on here when sing a mobile app, like ipad?
  14. On BBC news channel tonight 8.30 the story of the recovery of the Dornier from the Channel.
  15. Thats a nice job, does it have brakes?
  16. Always worth doing a search on ebay every now and then for relatives especially from WW1. Good find.
  17. Should be ok to jump from 12v as long as you take the leads off once started and don't switch any lights on. Are you sure it's not dragging up contaminated fuel from bottom of tank? Take off fuel filter housing if you can and squirt it out with carb cleaner. Or try running with a slave fuel tank directly to pump. Good luck.
  18. If its doing it after a run then yes it could be leaking or possibly a build up of gas. Could possibly be overcharging as that would cause it.
  19. My Mark 2 MR2 turbo....light metallic silver blue, 0-60 in under 5 seconds, stuck to the road like s**t to a blanket. Had to sell it for a stupid price when the kids came along. But that's not my biggest regret. My biggest regret is not buying the bloody thing again when it came up on eBay a few months ago! Noooooooo!
  20. I bought a Bren up at the Victory Show about 4 years ago for £100, then heard a story about a load of them dredged out of the canal because the bloke couldn't get rid of them. How times change...
