  1. I just bought some electrical connectors - very little else of interest, to be honest. All rather disappointing. Andy
  2. I rang the Guardroom to check and they say that the public day was Saturday, Sunday is families only. :-( Andy
  3. Sounds good - any more details? Andy
  4. No problems with the weather today - shame the same can't be said for the M25 on the way home! :-( Andy
  5. I did wonder, especially as I'd driven through there on the way home, but it's a fair old distance! Andy
  6. Nick Mead once told me that's already happened - he's apparently quite often approached about buying back spares! Andy
  7. Driving home to Portsmouth from Farnborough this evening around 7pm I chanced upon a Bulldog with L plates driving along Portsdown Hill. The time of day suggests that it's probably a TA unit, but I wasn't aware of any with Bulldogs in this area. Can anyone enlighten me? Andy

I wonder what the "armer" is made of? MDF? Andy
  9. Ditto the advice about talking to an MOT test centre. It would be ironic if your attempts to improve safety resulted in an MOT failure! Andy
  10. You're assuming, Robin, that one half of MOD knows what the other half has been selling! :-) Andy
  11. Ditto. If you aren't using ANR boxes and the green pressels then the headsets won't be receiving power, they need 24V to work. Andy
  12. I did training on Bofors at HMS Cambridge back in the 1970s when they were still fitted to HM ships as AA defence. I rapidly came to the conclusion you couldn't hit a flying barn door! Andy
  13. Well done - welcome to the club! :-) Andy
  14. It's only called that by the Colonials ... :-) Andy
  15. That's another reason for doing it in Excel, Clive. Once you've done the original setup you can produce any more graphs you need just by changing the numbers in the columns. Can you post the table of figures and your end result? Andy
  16. I was going to say the same but you beat me to it. Once you've worked out how to drive Excel it's pretty simple to do. Andy
  17. Amazing how quickly her hair and clothes dried off ... Andy
  18. During my H test training I was told there was a minimum speed of 30mph on UK motorways and that therefore they cannot be used by tracked vehicles, which cannot legally exceed 20mph. However, my search for any piece of legislation specifying that 30mph minimum limit has been singularly unsuccessful! Andy
  19. Yes, a Mk. 1 petrol-engined version. Andy
  20. I finally got round to doing this myself. A single link with new pad, track pin and nuts weighs 7.8kg. So for 90 links that's 702kg per side. Andy
  21. The trailer is pointing downhill, and it didn't necessarily arrive at the same time as the winch vehicle and/or they're planning to leave it behind? Andy
  22. Just had to Google Ross Noble .... :-) Andy
  23. So if dummy ones are £295 a pair, how on earth much are real ones worth? Andy
