  1. I don't think vehicle canvas was ever marked with 'U.S.' property stamps like that. On the US Militaria Forum there was a pic of a crate of original headlight covers being offered for sale in Normandy last month for €50/pair, none were marked in any way.
  2. Matt white, or you could also go for the blue-grey factory hoodnumber... or both, with the white number over the blue-grey one. Maybe see if those 'U.S.' markings will come off the headlight covers? πŸ˜‡
  3. I'm using this one for Firefox (my browser): https://adblockultimate.net/ and also AdBlock Plus. The only ad I see is for an insurancebroker for MV's, which I allowed so the forum can generate some income.
  4. On my Android devices I have installed the free 'FAB Adblocker Browser: Adblock' by Rocketshield. I use it mainly for youtube and it kills all the ads there, so I imagine it should work fine when visiting the forum too. Available in the Play Store, with other adblock browsers like this one.
  5. Same, but not everyone is computer-savvy... My dad managed the basic things just fine but anything more complicated or slightly out of order, TeamViewer to the rescue! But no new posts for a few days now, are the ads gone?
  6. I think I have a few of the Dinky Toys Commer recovery trucks and even the articulated lorry, obviously based on this design πŸ˜„
  7. Firefox is a browser, which is what you use to go on the internet. If you have a Windows PC you probably use Internet Explorer or its new version, Edge. Chrome is another browser, made by Google. If you want, you can download and install Firefox for free here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ . It does not remove or replace your current browser, just gives you another option. Once installed, you can add apps (like on your phone) and one of those is Adblock Plus. If you download that one it should take care of most ads/pop-ups. Let me know if you (or anyone else here) need some help with this. Importing settings and passwords from another browser saves you the trouble of having to do that manually.
  8. Just import all your settings & passwords from Edge and give it a go
  9. Same for me. Firefox is my standard browser, sometimes I use Chrome but I've never used Edge really so i don't know how that one is.
  10. Depending on what browser you use, I have Adblock Plus and AdBlocker Ultimate (free versions) for Firefox and I have no issue with pop-up ads here whatsoever. These extensions are probably available for Chrome and Edge too.
  11. Mixing water (with food-dye) with petrol is actually a good way to separate the ethanol from it and syphon it off. Even if it's a lot of old fuel, just remove from the tank and mix in with fresh fuel a little bit at a time. I had about 25 liters of old E5 once and just put about 5 liters in with a full tank of fresh petrol in my daily driver, without any issue.
  12. I think any of the 3 styles of hood star will be correct, all up to your taste I'd say. Check late-war pics and see if any of the styles are prevalent.
  13. If you want to go with the factory-applied hood number, go with style 11 in matte blue-grey (I believe RAL 5014 is pretty close?). If you go for a filed-applied number I think any of style 1 to 5 are good. Compare them to original photo's.
  14. Also check the coil and its connections. Maybe it overheats?
  15. After the war many NATO countries produced their own 1/4 ton trailer and some are almost identical to the Willys/Bantam one so you'll need to do some studying if you only want to to settle for a WW2 example. These are a good place to start: https://forums.g503.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=72809 http://jeepdraw.com/ (trailer section)
  16. You could also try electrolysis, I've had very good results with that. Takes off both rust and any paint.
  17. Mobile storage for the jeep, so it won't keep dripping oil on those lovely roses* (* or whatever is growing there) πŸ˜‡
  18. It's really sad how this went the last few years, I've attended many editions and I always loved coming there in the old days. I will miss it. On the other hand, maybe this will give someone else the opportunity to build a show to match those golden days?
  19. Yes, Willys blocks used in generators usually have a low-pressure head (Marked 'INDUSTRIAL') which will need to be replaced, along with the manifolds and possibly the ignition (not sure).
  20. I think we got stuck with our MB jeep in that same pool, that same year. We got pulled out by a front-steer Landy
  21. While I don't understand why they use the Reo while they clearly do have a pool of correct vehicles (anyone notice the Ford V3000 in Normandy pattern camo?☺️), I must say the show grew on me and I watched it with interest. I actually did like the modern soundtrack although it surprised me at first. I would definitely watch a second season, if that's being made.
