  1. Can't make it, can't get time off work, bloody olympics!!!
  2. I think me and the boys are comming down sunday, all depends on work at the moment.
  3. The LEZ is the main reason I fitted a petrol engine to my 110.
  4. Thats brilliant, I did it about 10 yrs ago and it scared the sh*t out of me!, the pilot we had must of thought he was is 'nam........ Shows how packed the medway field was to.
  5. Must admit, ive never bothered with etch primer, and never had any problems.
  6. I used ordinary car paint on my landy engine, no primer, still on 2 yrs later.
  7. Been saying the same thing for years. How do you think mv owners feel when they have to pay to get into the show and then have to use those crappy toilets. They are an utter disgrace. The next day I got back from w+p, I went and bought a toilet tent and a portable toilet.
  8. I managed to find a brand new top vent for my landy, £1, result!
  9. One thing's for sure, This is the biggist thread about w+p, and the show's not even over yet!!..................:-D
  10. Thats what worried me lee, as many of you know, I don't do any cooking when i'm at any show. I go off site to paddock wood for breakfast, to the local cafe, good food, good prices and a nice comfy cafe to sit in. I also, normally go off site for dinner, chinese/indian/kebab shop/fish and chip shop. This year it was turning into a nightmare getting back on site, which was one of the reasons I came home. At least the weather forecast is for dry weather for the rest of the show.
  11. I can't be bothered to set my camp up again, tbh. Roll on IMPS show!
  12. AS lee said, the only way to find out what it's like is to go and see for yourself. The weather forecast is for dry sunny weather, so hopefully, those that are there will enjoy themselves. I agree that the w+p staff have been working hard, but when I was there it just seemed that there was no clear plan in place. I arrived sat morning about 10am, and at that time, there were only 2 people in the booking in tent for mv's, and because of this the queue to get in was huge, mv's were queueing onto the main road, which, IMO was dangerous. I spent sat/sun/mon covered in mud and just could not face anymore. I did not take the decision lightly to to come home, but the weather forecast was for more rain and thunder and lightning. I hope it all goes well for the rest of the week.
  13. I was told that a fire engine must be able to get to anywhere on site within 5 minutes, true or not, I don't know. I was also told that if the show is cancelled before it starts(weds), then people are entitled to a refund. I hope the weather holds and it all goes ahead ok, but with rain forecast, I can't see it.
  14. Ive been going for about 15yrs, and have never seen it this bad.
  15. Ive had a look at the pictures on w+p facebook page, and, TBH, they are very mis leading. The entrance to the americas field; Some from around the site; The view from my tent this morning;
  16. Right chaps, my dad and I have given up and were back home. I am going to try and be as fair and honest as I can be. Traders=, the w+p facebook page have posted some positive comments from stall holders. A close friend of mine who is a trader spent 4 hours just getting through booking in and a further hour getting to his pitch. My dad and I walked the stalls yesterday and it was a nightmare. I spoke to about 6 long term stall holders who have been doing w+p for years and they were fuming, 1 was trying to organise agroup of stall holders to confront the w+p team to see whats going on. Toilets=, up until this morning there were only 4 potraloos for the whole of the americas field!! And these were the type with no 'flap', so you could see into the bottom, which was disgusting, I kid you not, they are so bad I did number 2's in my tent! All the portaloo's I have seen on site are the same. When we left today, more toilets were ariving on americas field though. My dad and I walked the whole site yesterday, and everywhere we went was a mudbath. Every roadway was a quagmire, with loads closed of. There are pools of standing water everywhere. Today has been the best day for weather so far, hot and sunny, and the site is starting to dry out, but very very very slowly, if the site gets anymore rain, it will just become a mudbath again. Whilst I was waiting in my landie for my dad to come out of the toilet by the showers, a lady who is a trader came over to me and was almost in tears, she needed a vehcile towed of site and had been to see some w+p officials for help, but they said they could not help her. I was happy to help her, however, the roadways in/out of the site are in chaos, so I could not even help her. The entrance to the americas field has a mud pool of about 100 sq yards and is about 6-12 inches deep, we will need at least a week of hot weather for this to dry out. People were still arriving as we were leaving, the queue to get into the site is a nightmare. TBH, what w+p should do is let people get on site and set up, and then allow them to come back on foot and book in, but, they won't do that for fear of someone getting in free. When you consider that it has been raining for 2 months, w+p should of had a plan in place to help sort out the problems, such as alumimium road ways and tons of gravel/woodchip. I'm sure there will be some people who will say it's not as bad as i'm saying, but, I say this, w+p for me is my annual holiday, and it is with a heavy heart that I have left early, but I just could not face sitting in my tent not being able to do anything anymore. I will post some pictures when ive un packed.
  17. My take on the current situation. It's been very nice today, and, yes it is very slowly drying out, but it is still a mudbath. I had a wander around the stalls today and thier field is a quagmire, very very muddy. Some parts are ok, but they are the parts with nobody/no vehciles on them. The routes around the site are very very muddy, and you will need a 4 wheel drive to get about. TBH, we are going to need at least 2-3 days of hot sunny weather to make the site acceptable, it will take alot longer to dry out completley. The river behind the site is very high and running very fast. I must admit, I have never seen w+p this muddy. I have yold the rest of my group not to bother comming. However, the marshalls are working hard to keep things moving, but, they need about 20 tonnes of gravel/woodchips to make a difference. Booking in can be a nightmare, you have to queue on the approach track and this has been leading to traffic tailbacks on the main road. When I arrived sat morning, there were only 2 people booking us in, which caused delays. It's a hard one to call overall, if you don't mind slurping around in the mud, come to the show. I like to troll the stalls and drive around the site looking at the vehciles and seeing what people are selling outside thier tents, this is almost immpossible at the moment. However, i'm sure I will still have a good time! I'm going to stay till tuesday, if it has not improved, then i'll be heading home. IMO, the w+p facebook page is making the site sound better than it is. Just my opinion, and i'm not saying that i'm right.
  18. Me and my dad will be arriving about 9am tommorow.
  19. Must admit, thinking of giving it a miss. I don't mind going to a show and then it rains, but to go to a show thats almost flooded and with more rain forecast seems pointless.
  20. Ive been a t w+p a few times when its pee'd down with rain, and it has always dried out quickly. But, we have had a hell of alot of rain and the ground must be sodden.
  21. Must admit, I don't remember this much rain before a w+p. If it carries on, I can see it being a nightmare.
