  1. It looks like a tube or tubes have been removed, does anyone have any idea what type they are ?
  2. Bump. All still available.
  3. So nice to find things that seem impossible and then sadly rip open the package. I wonder if it is possible to find the correct wire and rewind these ? This thread has so far had 747 views, shows how interested folk are ! Keep it coming, we are out here and many are quietly learning with you as well.
  4. It's been a while since all this was sorted and I thought I should update with the who did what... The starter was exchanged by ICS Online of Preston, https://startermotorsalternators.com/ The clutch plates were relined by Jim Jack Services of Cumbernauld, https://www.jimjackservices.co.uk/ The EB flywheel was sorted by Precision Engineering Services of Inverness, https://www.precisionengineservices.co.uk/ All were a pleasure to deal with and went out their way to help !

    BAR-NONE

Love it, if only my Landy was sold !
  6. I was thinking that. I may be wrong but the 432 drivers weather hood wiper motor uses the same power supply and would be able to use them both together.🤔 Not sure why you would though...
  7. Worth a try with warm water and a soft brush and/or rag. Hopefully.
  8. For those Guys-n-Gals looking to check an LGV status, it does not show up on the Gov status check but does on the MOT History checker, an LGV anomaly it seems. https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/
  9. I have just done the same and looked up some including Millies, to find them taxed and no MOT. You know who you are, there is no excuse !
  10. Is it really meant as a can holder ? I was always led to believe it was for a radio, it would be nuts to deliberately carry fuel internally never mind in that position. I've never known the MOD to have such crazy ideas 🤭
  11. I would say that the Jerry-can holder between the front seats is an interesting feature. 😂
  12. I think I am OK posting the manual for downloading. It maybe of interest to someone. Operator's Manual for T-62 Tank.pdf
  13. Hi Jitse, Thank you for posting I have only just become aware. It is wonderful news that you are researching this. I am not on Facebook but you can PM me on here and I'll pass on my email etc. Hopefully others will be in touch also. As for when they came ashore all my father said was that they were looked after by the locals for quite a while until the Germans came looking for them. I get the impression that the locals did not want to voluntarily give up the survivors but were persuaded by the survivors not to oppose the Germans and suffer for it. He had a great affection for them. The official account is that the Vessel missed a rendezvous and was attacked and sunk. Maybe. My father and his brother were adamant that the vessel was deliberately used as a decoy. I spoke to both and they were there and should know, my father spent the next 5 years as a pow with the other RN crew and if there was any doubt surely he would be aware. We may never know for sure. Iain
  14. Has anyone else gone through this since, there were some folk looking into it. How did it go ? I still suspect there are false declarations being made or are these kind of trucks being left off road ?
  15. It's been a while but just to clarify that this process did resulted in the issue of a plating certificate. It came later in the post!
  16. Hi Mike, No that's the PTO for the winch, it's chain driven. The output for the third axel was taken from the cover plate above it that is often used for an overdrive unit. The bit that sticks out to the rear is the torque limiter for the winch output.
  17. Thanks Richard, I have loved having it and will regret letting it go but I don't do any miles and it just sits being pampered. The 6x6 are impressive but the GVW is a bit much for here. I would still like one though, maybe...
  18. An interesting article telling the Perentie story. Hopefully its OK to post ! p52-65 Perentie.pdf This is the Australian government agency "Australian Frontline Machinery", database of manuals. All vehicle manuals available to download. https://afmsafety.com.au/safety/termsandconditions/database/#LR4X4ALL
  19. Selling my Land Rover Perentie. Due to lack of use and my eye on something else. In fantastic original condition and amazing spec and with only 30570 km on the clock ! This is an extremely rare vehicle in the UK and with a better spec that a Wolf with the Isuzu 4BD1 3.9l engine. There will not be another in this condition ! I have driven around 3k ( Almost half was the journey home from the importer in Milton Keynes) in the last 6 years and have spent most of the time cleaning and painting the suspension and overhauling brakes etc. Not that it needed it. Picture was taken in better weather than we have now but it has not changed. More to come !
  20. I have absolutely no knowledge of these vehicles but later trucks such as CUCV used holes in plates at the tow hitch to hook the chains into. It could be a backing plate folded at the bottom to give two holes on the flat. If that makes any sense... Or, two loops welded onto the bottom of the backing plate, I think a MUTT I once had used that.
  21. Fantastic stuff and what an effort. I and others are not on Facebook so this is good to see on here, the more the merrier. Keep it coming please !
  22. Just a thought that may already have been mentioned. There have been adverts selling BMP 1 track lately from Poland I think. Do you know if that would be a possibility ?
  23. True, it will not show a failure of the LED as the resistor will still be developing a current. But then the chance of a failure in either is remote especially compared to an incandescent bulb. As far as an MOT is concerned there will not be a warning light and the indicators should be working. Should not be a problem.
