1. The clip etc on the back looks the same as a Army one I just found on Google doing an image search. The Army eagle is different on yours and looks like a Luftwaffe one http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/war_badges/luftwaffe/panzer_luftwaffe.htm I saw the Army one was selling at $2500 so might be worth digging deeper as if real : [h=2]Collector Warning[/h]Due to their late institution these awards are exceptionally rare. Be wary of purchasing an example unless you have handled known originals. [h=2]Numbered Luftwaffe Panzer Badges - 25,50,75,100[/h]On November 10, 1944, just one week after the introduction of the standard Luftwaffe Panzer Badge, Reichsmarshall Goring introduced four new classes of panzer badge for 25, 50, 75, and 100 engagements. These badges were larger than the original badge and featured a small box containing the appropriate engagement number at the base of the wreath. WARNING: These badges are extremely rare, if not impossible, to find. It is highly unlikely anything but trial samples were produced.
2. Havent seen this pop up in here as yet? http://www.news.com.au/world/wwii-ghost-submarine-discovered-with-71-bodies-entombed/news-story/1fced5e8734c60e5d5df75b31fbf3384
3. Only the fire support ones....also had Scorpion or Fox turrets. Adrian will know which ones. I never saw a Salladin turreted one as before my time, only seen those in photos.
4. Just noticed this museum on the weekend. Unfortunately it was shut so my photos through the fence are p poor but I'll drop in on my next trip. I see a Valentine, Sexton, Stuart, M113, another armored car I couldn't get a shot of. This yellow anti tank carrier, would it be a Lloyd? Also I am guessing it gets driven backwards as opposed to normal and the engine is under the barrel? I wonder if some of this was from the other wheatbelt town
5. very nice.. I like the bench holes idea so that things can be clamped anywhere :-D
6. Well I guess it is game over for myself and the Acmat. I paid upfront 5200 quid to have a vehicle completed in a VCT format for the 2014 War and Peace show. Now almost a year and a half later only an small percentage of the agreed work has been done and I am told the 5200 quid is gone and with well over 20k sunk into it I give up. So I am looking to see if someone is interested in what is there who may want a project Below is the specification of work with what has not been done/not done if someone wants to pursue finishing it as a VCT Specification of Work Client - Michael Trinidad Vehicle - ACMAT Aim of Work To restore the vehicle to a first class condition in order for the client to use it for showing (with a view to displaying it at War and Peace in July 2014). 8. I saw a good Russian one with TD Pinzgauers which I liked but now I cannot find the video The only way I figured I could copy it would be you drive the same circuit many times as some of the added angles were: - front bumper viewing front and rear - rear bumper, viewing front and rear - side mounted - underside mounted - road mounted, ie drive over
9. Will have to watch the bidding on this one..... As long as we get to see it on hmvf
10. G'day only a 750 on milweb http://www.milweb.net/webvert/76048
11. yep if it was me I'd have a vacuum ore lifter there and there'd be a big enough hole already after a week, to prove or disprove A cheaper option is high pressure water lancing and a vacuum truck, if the rocks aint that big
12. the Scimitar is back http://whitelabel.globalauctionplatform.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/wca/catalogue-id-witham1-10000/lot-f847f88c-d80d-434b-9a77-a51d01048937?clienturl=wca
13. I think it all boils down to what is left hidden in that barn. Then make a list of parts needed. My guess the engine was fitted to many vehicles and may be not to difficult to find. The radiator is i think not a major issue as the fancy bit on the top is a cover. My guess is you could get a body made for less than 5k. So whilst you are restoring the chassis and other bits you can be searching for what can be found. Then at the end push the button on building a body. I am curious about if the rear end on yours is steerable as the last few piccies i posted i doubt the rear wheels steer as there is a safety bar accross the rear wheels
14. I have contacts in Moldova and sometimes you see them and parts on this website https://999.md/search?query=%D0%A3%D0%B0%D0%B7+
15. I guess it would depend on what other pieces are there and the cost of pieces to make or find and buy. This complete 37 sold for 35000usd http://www.auctionsamerica.com/events/feature-lots.cfm?SaleCode=MM12&ID=r1023 If what is in your photos is what you get then the good points are, should be fairly cheap but have a lot of potential to make it like heaps of different variants as much of the tin work could be made. Bad points, so far not sure about sourcing old SPA parts i.e. an engine, radiator, radiator cowl, windscreen frame. I was trying to find a resto blog but thus far no luck. Paul at Rustytrucks could give you a price on making or recreating missing panels etc some more SPA ww2 piccies http://www.deutsches-afrika-korps.de/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=2680 http://historicaltimes.tumblr.com/post/117259086828/the-frozen-body-of-italian-soldiers-and-broken
16. similar to the previous one or same.
17. Another variant http://www.regioesercito.it/mezzi/as43.htm the 37 had steerable rear wheels, trying to figure out if the other variants also had or not I like this
