  5. loggy driver talks a lot of sense there are lots of miltary vehs owners who no their vehs are not really tax tax excempted but people who say they are.its a dvla matter, the people who say the vehs mot excempt are taking a very serious risk if stopped by vosa veh they will have the veh held to the matter is sorted ie recovery,storage ,it will up to you to prove it is mot excempt you will not be able to use bob, said it was ok , i read it on the this forum i brought it like this my mates is it is up to you `to mot veh as your veh has to be kept to mot standards why chance it not all plod are stupid nor vosa some are owners of miltary vehs and read hmvf but cannot comment the people who break the rules normally no they are doing it but try to justfy it all i can say becare full out there or you will lose your pride and joy

  7. the lt/wts we had with reg 37fg37 were bronze green the fm reg still were up to fk, in 1978 we had to paint all are vehs irr paint mat green and black, painting was unscrew lens cotton waist in the holes grease glass and anything else you did not want paint on mix paint with petrol and spray also 5galls paint cans, take the top of and use sweepng brush we had no set pattern for how much black and how much green some were more green as we seem to get more green paint than black a lots of garrison vehs stay bronze green 41 sqn rct did till replaced
  8. i am reminded by my other half that just becauce i did 22years in the army that a lot of people with army vehicles have never been in the miltary so have not had the training so one should check with the driver and agree first before any movements are carried out as many people have diffrent ideas ,the army method is simple to avoid accidents and is used by all branchs of the arm forces
  9. my mj had in balance couple weeks ago on the mot off side binding replaced both w clinders sanded the shoes both sides to ruff them up and then gave it a good run my problern with the brakes is the lack of use the offer mj had front brakes sticking same problern lack of use strip down same way ok now i bet if left again same problern will happern

  18. your right the old ones were single trips ie collection of stores then southern england miles at start and finnish had to snco to sign work ticket end of the month all fuel added up and milage to work out mpg no machines to help you do it unit could have radom inspection if mpg to low when i went to 41 sqn they were trying out anew work ticket where you had to put a code in the box for what detail you were on and had radios fitted so like a taxi you had to wait for your next job

  21. yes i own a 303 h top and a six wheeled version and i fit ok foot soon get usedto angle and im a ruby prop so im not small depends if you need to use it every day they were built for a work vehicle the first lt wt did not have heaters or washers or hazzard lights and your combat jacket caught on the door handle and the door would fly open the first one the unit had was 37fg37
  22. im 6 3 i own two light weight and i 110 disco td5 as for leg room my old two door disco was the best plenty of leg room the 110 with the bolt out of the runners goes back more the hand brake can be tilted towards the gear tunnel i have put earlydoors on mind with sliding windows for more room i can drive my lt wt with out a problern my 24v ltwt with radio table and kit is a bettet ride than 12v gs ex raf one they are what they are very basic we have a brand new 110 at work and with all my kit on i cant the door but it still leaks in water when it rains that progress
