  2. almost forgot if anyone can confirm it would be helpfull my truck has not had anything done to it since release so marking are original it would seem to have spent time in Korea as apparently the markings under military police say military police in Korean
  3. just wondering how many cucv owners are on here ? they seem to hide very well as there is little or no mention of them i have a 1985 m1008 i drive it daily to my work in the west midlands uk
  4. I have no idea if this is any help but there is two matador chassis with both axles winches and chassis fixings in ward recyclings yard newport south wales they are on the pile to be burnt up so dont hang around it seems they may let you take parts for scrap value

  7. Does anyone know if e-mails to vendors gets through ? Or is there a routing problem ? I have sent several emails now asking about trailers and although they are marked sent I have had no replys. I spose they could be too busy to respond but all of them ? Surly not ??

  9. Re exact model I was under the impresion that the bulk were all ford do brazil cj5 universal as ford had bought up the willys operation I think the army may have called them cj5 rad There was a good model range for the civiy market too

  15. the very best thing about landrovers is everybodys uncle has one in bits at the bottom of there garden so spares are plentiful

  18. hi folks i have just bought a 1947 willys cj2a now firstly i am not out to militerise it but as it has just come in from texas i need to upgrade the lighting to make it safe to use including indicators but i want to use lighting that does not look out of place yet as i say make the jeep safe to use not that i plan to use it at night much but it will happen you guys i know are the best bet for ideas and any pics of what you have used on yours would be most helpfull thanks folks

  20. i think that if its within your price range you must ask how many operativeness will you get to buy one ........overall seems good to me and it would be no fun to my mind to buy an as new one

  24. many thanks to everyone who have given input on this the issue may have resolved itself i think it may have been sold verbally so then if it did become available the best thing is change tax to plg a lifting inspection certification should not be needed as its a factory built truck so will have an info plate somewhere licence class 1 ?? for under 7.5 tone i have normal trailer allowance due to my age despite my stunning youthful looks
  25. so the taxation class is the main problem ? does anyone know for sure if it was taxed plg would it lose its mot free status it would still be purpose built recovery vehicle but basically there is nothing wrong with owning and using it
