  1. You get around a lot don't you? Beltring next year?
  2. Actually its difficult to name a price. Its a lot of work and asking to much will scare potential buyers and too less will make it a "waste" of time. Also the chinstraps have to be bought (on their way), aged and installed These are the trialstages till I got them better. Using silica as texture is easyer but not authentic, cork is authentic but very difficult. Cork strewn over the paint makes it stand out like a sore thumb. Original ww2 cork is flattened. Maybe people got suggestions what I should ask? PM me with suggestions.
  3. Making a repro MP helmet is the next on my list. Check my repro helmet thread in the uniform section...
  4. My 2nd try. Used cork this time although its not evenly applied. The aging looks better than in the photo's. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a264/T214/diversen003Medium.jpg[/img] http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a264/T214/diversen005Medium.jpg[/img] http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a264/T214/diversen004Medium.jpg[/img]
  5. That's a lot of work!! You'll be happy when the work is done I think....
  6. I use 15W40. I only had those kind of braketroubles in the Ardennes cause of driving through clay-mud. I rinsed the brakelinings with a watersprayer for indoorplants from our mum, worked!
  7. Well that's a good question... :-P Waiting for the correct chinstraps to arrive so they are ready to use.
  8. Pregnant? I didn't do that it's just malicious gossip :argh: I am busy making repro helmets...nothing further to reveal.. :flower:
  9. Ashley, yep, I wouldn't want to be accused of making it too easy for others to sell them as genuine. Cara, the Dutch are rear-seam but I am converting some too look like front seam. Also planning on making Fixed and D bales out of the swivel ones. Still a lot to experiment for better results.
  10. Allready done that. :-D Engraved the markings "OVH" and "2006". Was already worried by buyers who want to sell as originals. :argh:
  11. Hi Ashley Thanks for sharing. Always a honour to have a veteran in your vehicle, don't you think?
  12. Hi I'm busy converting postwar Dutch helmets to US WW2 type ones. What do you think of my first one? Hoping to sell some later for re-enactment and stuff. Handpainted and aged.
  13. Hi I was wondering how difficult it is to install a Diesel in a halftrack. Know someone who did (know about the Israeli army). What kind of engine? A REO (multifuel) engine? Does the gearbox need replacing? All info wellcome.
  14. The French also made/used the Handy Talkies (we say walkie talkie) and the BC1000 so it could be possible they used lots more US transmitters and such.
  15. In Holland sealed beam aren't allowed in our MOT. Guess they will be more expensive anyway and probably easier to have bulbs instead of entire lenses in your spareparts box anyway.
  16. Cool video Boys with toys. Had fun myself as a passenger in a Sherman in the mockbattle. See you at Beltring next year.
  17. Come on boys, play nice. :flower: Don't make me take a cattleprod.... :naughty: (But it IS big).....
  18. Hi Jack Glad you like them. I've got more from vehicles inside museums and a shedload of photo's of monuments and such.
  19. No, that's my Evil twin brother  8-)
  20. After taking a closer look, the Vielsalm one isn't a Firefly I think. Could be the 76 mm, not sure though....
  21. Hi All Me my brother, our parents and brothers kids went to a holiday resort, offcourse we chose the Ardennes in the middle of the battlearea near Trois Ponts. In fact so close Peiper passed our holidayhouse about 300 feet away back then. Enjoy. First the wellknown Kingtiger at La Gleize. The next ones made at the Poteau museum. The 2 good looking Halftracks are used for excursions to the site of the ambushed US column featured in a famous German made propaganda footage. Nice Firefly in Vielsalm. Hotton. Manhay. Parkers Crossing at Baraque de Fraiture. La Roche de Ardennes. Panther abandoned at Grandmenil after it ran out of fuel. We were able to get inside because 1 of the covers which were used to weld the entrances sat loose on the right side of the hull.
  22. Happy birthday 8-) Just wondering; how did you know me when you invited me? From Gordon's forum I presume? Anyway, well done!
