  1. The front axle on my mat is of this pattern, and as far as i know its always been an artillery tractor.
  2. Are you still going to do the caps and t-shirts jack? "Oh yes Mr Beckett you and whos army?"
  3. This is great. Nice to see rare stuff being brought back from the grave! I've always liked Loyds, i'm beginning to think one would look good on a trailer behind the Scammell. Good luck Alastair, looking forward to seeing more of the resto. Richard
  4. Got one of the side cases off the back axle at the weekend, it having resisted most of the way. Unfortunatly it left the inner bush behind so got to make up a tool to try to remove that now. Fathers going to keep it soaked in diesel all week to help it along. Richard
  5. Some of the armour looks rather cheap.
  6. Me (Richard Fryer) in Desert rats marked Jeep somewhere near backish, along with father (Also Richard) and brother (Tim).
  7. Some photos from our little annual show. On the saturday three Jeeps went on a road run organised by Geoff Meadows to Barwick house in Yeovil to see what remained of the Italian POW camp that was there during the war (very little). Sunday saw a lovely day with a good turnout of vehicles.
  8. Not a Merlin or Meteor, but souped up Dizzy none the less. Richard
  9. That is ace, that should go on the back of the t-shirts and caps
  10. How weird is that? someone mentioned to me just a couple months ago about such a beast lurking somewhere near me. I'll do some digging and see what i can find out. Personally i think its a rediculous idea, and like Tony B says Merlin - highly doubtful, Meteor - possible but still silly. Richard
  11. Bit late in my reply after the weekend, but its taken a while to start coming down off the high. What a truely awesome weekend, the best MV event i've ever been to and ever likely to for that matter, words just can't do it justice. It was great to finally meet people who i've only ever conversed with in cyber space before plus some others, to name but a few - Adrian, Jim, Jamie, Phil B, Mark, Mike, Vince, Dave, Bodge, Nigel, Andy, Kit, Darren, Phil, the 2 Sams and of course Jack. To be a part of the run was just amazing, seeing MVs as far as the eye could see in both directions, and getting such a great reception everywhere we went, i shall remember this one till the day I die. A few special thanks: Dave: for cooking the food, as everyone knows cooking food in a field on a poxy little gas stove is an absolute c*#t, having it done for you just made the weekend all the better. Adrian: for the ride in his tank. Kev: for organising a truely memorable run. Nigel: for the jump start when the Jeep decided to throw its toys out of the pram Sunday morning. The people who gave me lifts in and out of the village: I don't know who you are but thanks. Jack: he da' man. Finally, i know Jack said he doesn't want to, but if enough people say it it might just come true, heres to the next Armour and Embarkation. Once again, thankyou all, Richard
  12. Yep, i'm up for a Friday recon mission. Can fit a few in the Jeep. Richard
  13. Thanks for the low down Jack. Also what is your Paypal user name? or is it ok to pay on arrival, or shall I send a cheque? Cheers, Richard
  14. Hi, and welcome to the forum. For Matador bits go to Matador man, Martin Callaghan, Barnsley, S. Yorkshire Tel: 01226 752823 I'd say for canvas go to Allied Forces, they specialise in military canvas, you will find the owner Jim Clark here on the forum. I have original hoops you could come and measure up, but i'm in south somerset. All the best, Richard
  15. There seems to be a surge of Pioneer projects of late, where are they all coming from? Good stuff tho, long may it continue.
  16. Great job Jim, can't wait for the day when i can take ours out for a spin Richard
  17. I might head down on the Thursday too. I'm only about 10 miles away so its an easy one for me. It might just be me being stupid but have timings of Saturdays road run been published. I.e. - what time we can expect to leave Maiden Newton and what time we should be rolling into Dorchester? Also, do i gather that Fridays run for soft skins is cancelled? Cheers, Richard
  18. Hi Simon, welcome to the nut house. Me, my dad and brother are currently restoring a Pioneer too, happy to help in any way we can. If you need them I have the workshop and drivers manuals in electronic format, happy to email or burn to CD and send. Richard
  19. Hi Jerry, Welcome to the Scammell and HMVF clubs. I see you're in Bristol, I live in Bristol for work during the week. Perhaps I could come see you and ur wagon one evening? All the best, Richard
