  1. This is my lightweight after three and a half years of restoration. Really really pleased now after all that time!!!! One of the best lightweights on Malta. visit maltahistoricvehicles.com!!! really good site and amazingly rare vehicles!!!!!
  2. Did you paint all the pig using a brush? How was the finish? Malcolm
  3. Thet woman was the woman that helped put the engine and gearbox back into my land rover
  4. Hey guys, I have checked the dimensions of the chassis and it is infact a K2. Don't mind the cab, in Malta you will find bedfords with austin cabs, leylands with isuzu cabs. fords with toyota engines etc... In Malta nothing is standard. Malcolm
  5. Hey Guys, some updates on the pig. I had to stop work on the pig for the past month due to exams, but now I had all the time in the world to start cracking. One side of the pig is completely stripped and painted. The side lockers need welding due to being in the open for more than twenty years. Might I say that it has taken four guys (myself, Martin, Mark and Mario) and a girl (my girlfriend) about four days to strip half a pig to bare metal and painted in red oxide. Malcolm
  6. As promised photos of the ambulance from malta. You might notice that there's nothing left from the ambulance body. Malcolm
  7. When you see the Ambulance we saved you will not recognise the vehicle, its that far gone. You did fantastic work getting the austin for Paris. Malcolm
  8. The one in the photo belong to the government and therefore I have no access to the vehicle. But the barn find which has been bought by MHVT is going to be recovered next Friday. I will get you some photos and hopefully chassis numbers. But regarding condition; unfortunately the Maltese weather, although warm is very humid and does not do any good to the steel, the chassis is fine but the rest will need alot of patience and swearing Malcolm maltahistoricvehicles.com
  9. I am pleased to announce that the Malta Historic Vehicles Trust has just acquired the remains of a 1940 Austin K2 ambulance. Only two remain on the island, one belongs to Heritage Malta, which is a government culture preservation department and the new find belonging to MHVT. The Austin and the Fordson ex-raf fire tender in the photo is the one owned by Heritage Malta, photos of the MHVT one are to follow
  10. Some photos for you guys. Some work on the pig on Saturday, a couple of more saturday's and we'll get it stripped completly Malcolm Land Rover Lightweight Series 3 1974, ex-northern ireland armoured lightweight
  11. Hey Clive, you were right, it is 28 BK 07 and not 13 Bk 07, my old my friend Peter Skerry listed them incorrectly yesterday. Could you explain the difference in the contract numbers because you were starting to talk to me in chinese just there. Would you have the operational history of the pigs or is that through the RLC? Thanks again Malcolm
