  6. I am having a problem with my Ford V8 staff car. The number 5 lead is not working, although I have replaced the Plugs, Plug leads and checked over the distributor. I now suspect the distributor cap, but it looked OK when I fitted the new plug leads. Can anyone here give me any advice before I change the distributor cap? Many thanks Robert
  7. I am getting my vehicles out for the year and wondering if anyone here has experience of the new E10 unleaded Petrol. Is it as bad for old vehicles as I have heard? Anyone been using it and what are your experiences?
  8. I need a flexible petrol pipe for my WOT2. It goes from the petrol switch to the petrol pump. Part number is WOT2-9288. Can anyone help or suggest where I can get one? I am booked into a show next week and have a non-running truck at present. Many thanks.
  9. My Son-in-Law is 50 this year and my Daughter wants to give him a day in a Tank. He cannot drive, so is looking for a ride in a tank for the day (Tank Commander?). My Daughter and Son-in-Law are going to the Bletchley/Milton Keynes area on Saturday August 13/Sunday 14 August so it needs to be then. Can anyone here suggest somewhere suitable at that time and location they could go to, please?
  10. I bought a Carburetor, but it's the wrong one for my Ford (made a mistake). It is set up for a Bedford, I think a QL. It is a Solex 40RZFAIPO and has never been used (NOS). Price is £125 which includes carriage in UK.
  11. I used Autosparks for a wiring loom for my Ford WOA2. Well made of cotton covered cable, and all the colours matched the wiring diagram in the manual! Just had to correct a couple of connectors and it fell into place.
  12. John Sorry but I had absolutely no interest from anyone in the tapes/DVDs, so I ended up donating them to the National Trust book shop at the Vyne, near me about 6 months ago. Robert
  13. The pick axe mounting on my WOT2 is the same. Ford seem to use a civilian style pick axe in their vehicles, don't know why.
  14. Has anyone here converted, or are thinking of converting, their MV to Electric power? I have heard of some Classic Car owners who have done it. Just asking. Robert
  15. Can anyone help identifying the gun handle here? It has WD markings and a number S27. Any help appreciated. Many thanks.
  16. I am looking to buy a Car Battery Conditioner to keep my batteries in good condition. Has anyone here experience of them and what is a good make or type? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks
  17. I have volunteered to help the MERL (Museum of English Rural Life) with a project involving the Groundnut Oil Scheme in the late 1940s, early 1950s. I know they used ex-Military vehicles and clothing, but need more details and any photographs. I know of the SHERVICK tractor made out of surplus Sherman tank parts, but wondered what else was used. Can anyone help with photos, information or references I can use, please? Many thanks. Robert Davey
  18. I have a certificate from a Petroless Day on 18 March 1942, allowing a car to go on an essential journey. Does anyone know anything about these Petroless Days, when they started/stopped and how frequent? How successful they were?
  19. Interior colour is Service Brown, same as the outside colour. Upholstery is green for front and folding seats in far rear of car, and brown rexine for rear seats. Door cards and millboard panels are all chocolate brown. Headlining is buff colour, like a pre-war Ford. You're welcome to visit to look at my vehicle for details. I live in Reading.
  20. I prefer to use Dpd for deliveries (more reliable and cheaper than Post Office). I will let you know how much and you can use PayPal for payment. I'll get back to you soon.
  21. I've got a Jeep canvas spare. Not in the best condition as it has been in my garage for about 40 years. If you are interested, I will get some photos tomorrow.
  22. In my 1944 workshop manual for my Ford WOT2 it mentions about the Red nuts. After a friend talked about white wheel nuts, I looked at all the photos I had of all wartime Ford WOT2 trucks and none had white wheel nuts. Seems to be a post-war thing.
