  1. Jeremy....well done! Excellent work. Those engine side panels turned out really nice...and it does look terrific on Tracgrips all round. Alex p.s. I also like the shade and the amount of shine/dullness of the paint you used.
  2. Jeremy, Great to see the truck out in the wild....even though it was just to turn it around. Those engine side panels turned out really nice. Alex
  3. Guy, In case you are after more pictures of the Morris radio box...Jaap de Wit on MLU restored a C15 with Morris radio box a few years back. Alex
  4. You're welcome Guy. Yes with those speakers..that would be a sight to see!:-D Keep up the good work; I am enjoying this thread just as much as the previous one with the QL. Alex
  5. Lovely work again Guy! Attached you will find 2 period pictures. The "portrait" picture is taken in Den Haag, Holland. source: https://www.nederlandsfotomuseum.nl The "landscape" picture is taken in Rotterdam, Netherlands; source: http://stadsarchief.rotterdam.nl/ regards, Alex
  6. Jeremy, I didn't want to "dump" the question on you if the CMP holders are the same.....but I just couldn't find the drawing fast enough :-D. But, good to hear they are the same....so I am definately interested if you are making a small series. Here is one of the threads on MLU, showing how others made the rifle butts: (not that you are a novice working with wood....)http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/showthread.php?p=193447 regards, Alex
  7. Jeremy, I love the engine side panels and tool boxes...really nicely done! You have come a long way with your restoration. I wonder if these are the same as the ones used on the CMPs(?). I was looking at making a set for my Chev soon, but it's the inside that has been puzzeling me...as the flat part where the rear of the rifle sits on, is slightly sloped to match the rear of the rifle. But anyway, if the design is the same, than I am definately interested in a set of 2. Alex
  8. Lovely sheet metal work again Guy! well done, Alex
  9. Mike, I am not sure if you want to get parts from abroad, but I just noticed last weekend that Jeep village in France offer the nose as a separate item for 18 Euros. http://www.jeepvillage.com/index.php?mmond=1&entry=212&crtmeta=62&crtsc1=1087&crtsc2=1274&crtsc3=1327 Alex
  10. I was quite surprised to see this here.......at a local Oldtimer show in Holland (Santpoort). Alex
  11. Lovely work Jules. Great to see both 8cwt's in one picture. I see you have also swapped the tires on the Morris in the meantime(?) Alex
  12. Ian, I am not sure, but I wonder if it's a modified Canadian 10cwt trailer(?) Alex
  13. Hi Jean, The CMP rear bodies were usually supplied by sub contractors to either Chevrolet or Ford, which means you could use both bodies for your C60. It's hard to see in the pictures, but I think the steel one you have there is the earlier fully welded type (there was a later type that looked identical, but was bolted), while the wood/steel composite body was a slightly later design, that was bolted and could be knocked down for shipment. Alex
  14. Lovely work Howard. I can imagine the new owner is very happy ! Alex
  15. Looks like the Balmoralgreen collection in France. Either trespassing....or a staged set of pictures......but, these vehicles are definately not abandoned. In fact, they can be seen on shows quite regularly, like Locomotion en fete, and also in the camp at Carentan, Normandy, each June. Alex
  16. Howard, Good to see the rear body coming back to life. Excellent work! That Porta Power sure looks like a handy piece of kit for this sort of work. Alex
  17. Lovely work Jules. I just love the PU 4x2....in fact all 8cwt's. I agree with the others on the Khaki Green G3; it does look very good. I am also using G3 on my Chev C8, premixed by auradesign in the Czech republic...might be a hair darker than the mix you have, although that's difficult to see in the pictures. Alex
  18. Lovely work again Howard. Good to see the truck back on the Good Years. I am looking forward to the next updates to see that rare body come back to life. Alex
  19. It used to be here in Holland, but I think it sold in the meantime. I am not sure where it went. The (former) owner bought it from the French army with low miles......it was used on a French base as a truck to collect litter. There is at least one other D15 GS here in Holland. That's another lovely truck Pete! Alex
  20. Looking good Tony! Is the orange belt rivited as well, or is it a plain belt? When it comes to colouring.....maybe some flexible paint is an option....like the ones used by the RC car guys. I am sure you know which Japanese modelling firm sells those Alex
  21. Wow, another lovely Monkey face turns up! Congratulations Jean, that looks like a nice solid truck you have there. LWDparts in Holland has NOS headlights for sale. Regarding a bumper....I am sure I have seen one a couple of months ago on Leboncoin. Same with fuel tanks....they do pop up for sale, but the trouble is finding the right type in good condition. good luck, Alex
  22. I was helping the museum with the Conger carrier at the time and remember they bought the C8 very cheap. The seller convinced them the bowser was original, but the truck had a cracked engine block. Soon it was discovered that the water tank was post war. They couldn't be convinced to make a new GS body for it, and in stead they decided to give it a quick cleanup and paint job. Pity as they also had an option on a Morris Quad beetle back at the time, which would have been more suited for the museum. Alex
  23. Excellent work guys.....and some nice welding! I have to say that the lowered chassis piece could have fooled me.....the conversion seems to have been quite nicely done.....not the crude welding you often see on converted ex MV vehicles. Alex
  24. They have also recently been posted in the for sale or heads up section, but better safe than sorry! I think the long closed cab one could be a rare Canadian 975 (too long for a 970 in my opinion), but it could also "just" be a lengthened 968 or 969. Would love to see some pictures of the chassis and drive shafts....or maybe a picture of data plates in the cab to determine it's identity. Let's hope they get saved! Alex
  25. Lovely work Pete! Excellent to follow the restoration of the Retriever, please keep the pictures coming. Alex
