  1. I have a set of EMERS from 1948 that give all the information needed to make a drops "crate" for a WWII jeep' John.
  2. I couldnt agree more, all this angst over pressure etc. I have fitted Su electric pumps to jeeps, and if i could not one I fitted an electric pump from a Jap saloon, make unknown. All the jeeps have been fitted with an electric pump for years and have not given any trouble, John.
  3. You need to think about your safety, you are driving a dark green machine and altho daylight running would not require lights the weather can change and heavy rain or fog can happen at any time of the day and you would be almost invisable., also you are driving a slow, 45 mph Jeep against the much faster other vehicles on the road. There have been a number of accidents, some fatal, involving jeeps and other MV including a DUKW turned upsidedown. It is an easy matter to fit lights to a trailer and the time spent may save your life. I also have a modern fog light on my trailer for added safety. John.
  4. These three formation signs are in a book published by 21st. Army group at the end of the war. These signs were used on vehicles and not formation signs as worn on BD, John.
  5. Cant help with the markings, but a local lady was an Ambulance driver in WWII. Her Job was to drive to a particular drop zone for the paras, park up, watch the drop and collect any injured, an ocasionly the dead. John.
  6. Richard on hell of a lot of posts, but you are well known for your knowledge and willingness to explain and advise, therefor it is no wonder you have clocked up the mileage, Thanks for your help on the pump, John.

  10. This dosnt look like a military trailer, the right angle central beams are wrong for an airborne type trailer, the drop axle is also wrong, all the airborne trailers that I have seen have a pair of square u channels for the central boom and the axle goes straight to th centre of the brake drum, John.
  11. A local garage closed down years ago and I was given this 1908 pillar drill, along with a massive selection of drills, John.
  12. I should add that the white stuff either side of the road is snow. John.

  16. At the risk of being banned on here I have to say , what a load of tripe written about originality. The following pictures taken from Electrical and mechanical engineering regulations show a few of the mods done to jeeps in British service. Note different carb, extra springs front and rear. One of my jeeps has these extra springs and when I assembled it and tried to fit new shock absorbers the front and rear were too short. I phoned Tony Sudds and he knew exactly what to do. Put rear shocks to the front and ha supplied longer ones for the rear. There are plenty more British mods if anyone is interested, John. ps British also converted many jeeps to 12 volt.
  17. Another piece of plant that is getting in my way and needs another home, it is a Norman flat twin generator that was running last year. It is so heavy that I have not tried to moove it to se if it will start, up for grabs, John.
