  1. It realy depends on how much you want to invest ? And how original looking you want to make it , like making a bed for it , and how good is the cab , wheels tires etc . Just a coat of paint doesn`t restore a truck , so maybe you will find a faded more orriginal truck for less money .
  2. To me it looks like two brake switches , which have been connected in line , so if you pull both Steering levers backwards , the brake light will come on .(same system in Sherman)
  3. Dynamo looks the same as on an AEC Matador , is it 24V?
  4. This Zenith comes from an Early GMC CCKW truck , the engine will run on it , but it will get too much petrol , resulting in black puffs from the exhaust(I had the same set up a long time ago ), but worse is that it will wash the lubricant from the cilinder walls , and your engine will wear faster. Chevrolet engines have a Carter Carburettor (the version with the black tin cover over the injection pump rods)
  5. I could organise a trip for a week into the Belgian Ardennes , or a trip for a week through the Netherlands if you wish .
  6. Yes Tony probably the late ones have electrics , it is the same with the lightweight trailers if you look carefully at the Arnhem pictures , none seem to have the bracket spotwelded on the side of the trailer for the light .I have one of these abandonned trailer from Market Garden , and there is no evidence , that there was ever one fitted , my other lightweight trailer has all the fittings for lights and switches , same with 10 cwt trailers , if there is a hole underneath the towing hitch , then all the other electrical fittings are there as well.
  7. From factory they had no tailgate , because they had to float , Belgian army made their own with tailgate , but also had WW2 ones converted with tailgate .
  8. Hi ,usually a C60 should be able to run easy in 4th gear , problem most likely is , that your distributor is set for petrol from when the truck was build . For modern petrol keep advancing it till you hear a slight pinging noise in the manifold(when accellerating) , than back it just of so that the noise diasapears . most likely you have a lot more power then .
  9. Some models QLR and CMP with Radio body had these Chairs ,is it For Sale ?
  10. Tell me what size the cup is , got some NOS ones , but don`t remember what size .And PM me your address
  11. There is a 37 mm recoil mechanism laying in front of the M3`s
  12. What would be the purpose of the tube mounted on the front pannel under 45 degrees ?
  13. Even if you take rotor arm away , or disconect the battery , it doesn`t stop the thieves . They come with for in a car with trailer , and straight away push it on the trailer and are gone . Only way to cure it is to put a lock around steering arm and spring leaves , in a left or right full lock position .
  14. Auto sparks has 2 MW looms listed , BF14c General purpose , and BF 23c With CAV control box & brake lights. What is the difference between the 2 ?
  15. Some Canadian Ford water pumps have the same bearing as a Jeep water pump , so worth a try to rebuild .
  16. They always use oil , modern 50 from all manufacturers will do , just flush oil tank clean before filling , and you will be OK .
  17. yes it is from the Canadian archives , if you search on the pictures site , you will find several shots in very high resolution
  18. I am sure this is a French Rim , I have seen lots of 1 ton trailers and GMC`s with these rims on , ex French army . They even have a french makers name stamped into them . Several bolster trucks which only stood in French depot`s still had English written data plates on them, Several even never had the engine`s rebuilt , only 300 to 600 miles on the clocks.
  19. this rim style is used on M8 armored cars , and half track/ scout car . there are offset differences in them . 105mm howitzer is the same , not so easy to find.
  20. Is there anybody who knows the relation between Chassis numbers and engine numbers in Bedford MW`s and OY`s ?
  21. John , do you have the service bulletin about the Canadian modifications ? A friend of me is restoring a wrecker , ex Canadian army , but all the mods have been cut of by a previous owner . So it would be nice to do a proper job on it again . Thanks Maurice
  22. Does anybody know from which tank this elevation mechanism is from ?
  23. Barry maybe there was no need to reroute the exhaust , a diesel engine has not so much heat going through the pipe , paint also stays longer on a diesel exhaust .
  24. google on dutch canvas company`s , they still make it over here for sails on these old barges wich they still use in the north
